The GM Authority Take
The drop in Cadillac CT5 sales during the fourth quarter reverse the positive trend we’ve seen during the prior quarters of 2023. Even so, it maintained its seventh-place, mid-pack showing among 15 entries while being within just 69 deliveries of sixth. Many of its rivals – namely BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and Audi – continue to beat the CT5 on a collective basis.
Overall Cadillac new-vehicle inventory ran at 46 days supply in September, increasing slightly to 48 days supply in October, and 61 days supply in November. While a 60-day supply is considered optimal in the U.S. auto industry by many automotive sales organizations such as the National Automotive Dealers Association (NADA), Cadillac is running slight below the industry average of 71 days. As such, it seems that inventory/availability were not issues for the CT5 during the quarter.
Unless GM opts to increase production output while finding ways to increase demand for the model, we expect CT5 sales to remain unremarkable. However, the upcoming CT5 refresh should help substantially in terms of product competitiveness.
About Cadillac CT5
The 2023 Cadillac CT5 arrives with just a handful of changes and updates over the 2022 Cadillac CT5.
While in December a year ago Consumer Reports said the 2023 Cadillac CT5 was a compact luxury car to avoid buying, just a week later Car and Driver named the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing to its 2023 10Best cars list. “The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is the greatest sports sedan on sale today,” the editors proclaimed, “if not of all time.”
The 2024 Cadillac CT5 arrives as the fifth model year of the luxury four-door, offering up a few important changes and updates across the lineup compared to the preceding 2023 model year. That includes standard IntelliBeam headlamps across the entire CT5 for all trim levels. Furthermore, the 2024 model year gets a new Red Accent Package on the CT5 as does the CT5-V as well as the CT5-V Blackwing. Additionally, the 2024 CT5 Onyx Package will include a new decklid spoiler.
The 2024 Cadillac CT5-V, CT5-V Blackwing both get additional elements to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the V-Series sub-brand, namely a 20th Anniversary grille header decal and unique instrument cluster wake-up animation.
Here is what’s new and different for the 2024 Cadillac CT5, as well as the CT5-V and the CT5-V Blackwing.
The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing won the Car and Driver 2024 10Best award, marking the high-performance luxury sedan’s third appearance on the annual list.
This past December, the 2024 Cadillac CT5 received a Recommended rating from Consumer Reports.
Overall, Cadillac ranked Average in the Consumer Reports 2024 Reliability Report, though it still placed above the average dependability of U.S. automakers.
This past September month, GM debuted the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5, revealing new styling and tech features along with more standard safety items. Notably, this refresh only applies to the Cadillac CT5 Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport for now. The refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will soon follow.
Production of the 2025 Cadillac CT5 at the GM Lansing Grand River plan will kick off on April 2nd.

Where did you see it? I can’t seem to find anything on it

How does GM make any money on volumes this low?
I don’t think GM turns a profit on their sedans, but the only reason I can think of is that the CT4/5 exist because GM needs to keep their halo versions on the market: the V/Blackwing series- for historical, cache and engineering reputation purposes.
GM is most definitely turning a profit on these. The Alpha 2 platform is essentially a carry over so the R&D costs were minimal.
I think it’s a great looking car at a good price.
I’ve got to buy one before they discontinue these.. it’s only a matter of time. I do not want a truck/suv
