2024 Cadillac CT5: Here Are The Two Things That Are Different

Earlier this year, GM announced the 2025 Cadillac CT5, which will bring a pretty significant refresh to the marque’s bread-and-butter luxury sedan. The 2025 model, however, will only go into production in the spring of 2024, which means that the 2024 Cadillac CT5 will be in production until then. So, we’ve compiled what’s that’s new and different about the 2024 CT5.

Model Line

There are no changes to the model line, with the Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels remaining intact. Two high performance variants – 2024 CT5-V and 2024 CT5-V Blackwing – are also available, but they receive a different set of changes than the “regular” CT5 – which is the focus of this write-up.

Exterior

The biggest (and only) changes are to the exterior, where one exterior color is deleted while another is added. The deleted color is Blaze Orange Metallic (GCF), while the new hue is Midnight Sky Metallic (GXF).

Interior

No changes are in store to the interior of the 2024 Cadillac CT5.

Driver Assist Technology

Similarly, no changes are taking place when it comes to the interior.

The sole package-level change is the addition of the Red Accent Package (PDK), which features:

  • 20-inch Low Gloss Black alloy wheels with Red accents (SKX)
  • Red wheel center cap (LPO 5ZE)
  • Black wheel lug nuts (LPO SPY)
  • Black wheel locks (LPO SPZ)
  • Decals (LPO 5KB)¹
    • Only available on Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels
  • Decals (LPO SB9)²
    • Only available on Sport trim level
  1. Not available with Bronze Accent Package (LPO PDJ), Exterior Accent Package (LPO PDU), Onyx Package (LPO PDB), Radiant Package (LPO PDV) or 20-inch wheels (LPO SSE, LPO SSJ)
  2. Not available with Bronze Accent Package (LPO PDJ), Onyx Package (LPO PDB), 20-inch wheels (LPO SSE, LPO SSJ)

Chronology

As a reminder, the 2024 Cadillac CT5 follows the 2020 CT5, which was the model’s introductory year, as well as minor changes to the 2021 CT5, 2022 CT5 and 2023 CT5. The 2025 CT5 introduces a long-anticipated mid-cycle refresh.

Powertrain

The 2024 Cadillac CT5 continues being offered with two turbocharged engines. Identifiable by the 350T badge on the decklid, the turbo 2.0L LSY inline four cylinder is the base engine. It’s rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and is standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels.

The optional engine is the twin-turbo 3.0L LGY V6. It’s rated at 335 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque, and is optional exclusively on the Premium Luxury trim level, where it’s identified by the 550T badge on the decklid.

GM’s ten-speed automatic transmission handles shifting duty, while all models have rear-wheel-drive as standard, and all-wheel-drive as an extra-cost option.

Sales

Sales of the Cadillac CT5 range, which includes the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport models – along with those of the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing, are on the rise. During the first nine months of 2023, CT5 sales have grown 37 percent to 14,397 units, posting one of the highest growth rates in the segment. That gives the CT5 a segment share of eight percent, one percentage point more than the same time period a year ago.

The positive performance is primarily the result of better availability of the CT5 at the dealer level thanks to normalized production at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

Refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5

Refresh

As mentioned earlier, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 will introduce a much-anticipated refresh, headlined by a new front fascia along with a redesigned cockpit with a massive 33-inch curved screen. That model was originally announced to enter production at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in the spring of the 2024 calendar year.

  1. The 2025 interior is so gorgeous that these 2024s should be heavily incentivized otherwise buyers will wait.

    1. Too bad they made the front end worse with 2 fake black shiny vents and they never addressed the main issue with this car, the AWFUL fake C pillar window, I guess the fake window now matches the fake vents on this fake luxury car…..

Though at least they did something before they eventually give up on this segment too and announce its discontinuation around summer 2025……

The Silverado Motors Company can’t be bothered with regular cars…..

  3. How do you not talk about super cruise in this article. What trims is it available on. That’s what people want to know. Update the article please

This website should be taking about that on every car it’s available on by GM

It’s a great product, talk about it.

    1. As someone driving but not madly in love with a 2022, I think the 2025 fascia is an improvement. It fixes, somewhat, the stupid “jaw” that appears to dangle unsupported beneath the grille. The new X shape of the ‘bumper’ at least breaks up the gaping black cheapness below.

As for the interior, all I see different is the obvious big ribbon of screens across the top of the dash. As someone who believes the dependence on screens has been wrecking otherwise good cars for some time, I’m not that impressed by this new, more screens approach. Btw, you will notice it’s not a single screen, but rather several small ones in a common housing with dead areas between. That’s unfortunate because it suggests the user will have little choice in configuring what info goes where.

The c-pillar is criminally awful and always will be. There’s no fixing that without new sheetmetal.

Super cruise is a novel product / party trick that never gained my total trust. The real problem is that gm packages it in only the most highly optioned trim combinations. The ct5 is a decent value in base form. It’s a good balance of price and performance in PL 550t configurations. It’s not worth the money when you add over 10k in platinum options and then pay even more for supercruise. Nobody buys supercruise because it blows the car way out of the sweet spot for it’s class. It’s like putting a $75k kitchen remodel on a singlewide trailer house. It makes sense on an Escalade and it was fitting on the ct6. if you could have it on a ct5 for just $2k as an alacarte option it would be a great differentiator against the competition.

  4. Would not hurt Cadillac CT 5 sales to squeeze a few more cubic inches of interior cabin space, too close to CT4. JMO
