Refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5-V, CT5-V Blackwing Coming Soon

General Motors unveiled the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5 at the 2023 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, revealing an updated look, a huge infotainment screen, more tech items, and more standard safety features. That’s all well and good, but the refresh shown last week only applies to non-V variants of the Cadillac CT5, such as the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels, and not the range-topping Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing performance model. Which begs the question – when will GM show off the refreshed Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing? According to Cadillac chief John Roth, the answer is soon.

GM Authority recently sat down with Cadillac chief Roth in Detroit, and among the topics of discussion was the refreshed Cadillac CT5. In speaking with GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft, Roth was asked when we could expect to see the Cadillac CT5-V and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing get the same updates revealed for the Cadillac CT5 Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport.

According to Roth, Cadillac has “a whole lot more product stories to be told in the months ahead.”

While far from exact, it sounds as though an official reveal for the Cadillac CT5-V and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is just over the horizon. For those readers who may have missed it, the refreshed Cadillac CT5 Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport now incorporate an updated front fascia with unbroken lighting signatures running vertically down the sides, as well as a lower, wider front grille. The refresh also includes new exterior paint options.

The cabin space was also updated, and now incorporates an all-new curving 33-inch diagonal LED color touchscreen, offering a full customizable layout and 9K resolution. The standard safety features list include Blind Zone Steering Assist and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking, while the GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system is optional.

As for the greasy bits, non-V variants of the refreshed Cadillac CT5 are equipped as standard with the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine, while the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY gasoline engine is optional. Production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

  2. The back and side views are great, letting the front view grow on me, not sure yet.

    1. I was thinking the front and side views are great but the back view is still lacking.

  3. My biggest complaint, and Cadillac is not the only one, is fake plastic vents in front.

  4. Nice car but with a feeble 360 horse power I wouldn’t consider it. I’ll stick with my 15 year old hemi.

    1. Then get almost double with a blackwing. The Vsport become the V and the V became the V blackwing. My CTS-V has 556, so the current gen has more than mine.

  5. 360hp should be the regular engine. Still shocked they call it a V, It’s down 60 from the previous V sport.

Get the CT4 V and get a low output turbo 4. Silverado has a lot more power with the same engine.

    1. Ya its kinda quick… but than you have to put up with the horrendous sound of a 4 banger engine that still gets worse mileage than my 15 year old 300c AND has to be filled with 93 octane fuel… What they’re doing with these tiny 4 banger engines really is rather pointless…

  6. Cadillac never seems to get the centrestack right, that trapezoid shape is dumb looking, certainly doesn’t look as high class the the V price tag. I’ve been wait8ng for years for them to kill off VUE, now, until that centrestack isn’t so off putting.

  7. Also, in a full size car, put the cup holders side by side. NOT one in front of the other, that feels so Pontiac G6 like.

  8. Finally a state of the art interior. Looks great!
