The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Korea sales saw another healthy increase in November, marking the Bow Tie brand’s second consecutive month in the green in the South Korea domestic market. As such, Chevrolet continues to recover from its previous negative streak, while looking to continue on the path of growth started with the arrival of the all-new, locally manufactured Chevy Trax.

In fact, the 2024 Chevy Trax was solely responsible for the solid commercial performance experienced by Chevrolet Korea in November. The model represented nearly 80 percent of the brand’s total sales volume for the month. The second-generation Trax added 2,306 units on a year-over-year basis, as no units of the last-gen model were sold in November 2022. This prevented the general collapse experienced by all other Chevy models from impacting the brand’s overall performance.

Trax aside, all other Chevrolet nameplates suffered large double- and triple-digit declines both during the month as well as for the year-to-date cumulative totals. Aside from the natural decline of the discontinued Chevy Spark, the most significant drop was that of the recently-refreshed Chevy Trailblazer, which continues to deepen its negative performance in the Asian country. The reason for the ongoing drop in Trailblazer sales in the local market is unclear, but it might be related to supply issues as GM prioritizes producing units for export to North America.

  1. No one wants the 1.2 L in the tracks. It Hass to be at least a 1.3 the 1.2 is way underpowered if you want to increase production and sales make the change also start on the V6 for the Colorado so you can improve your sales not everybody wants a four-cylinder.
