The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Colombia sales saw a significant decrease in October, which further worsens the market share declines of the Bow Tie brand in the South American country. The results represent Chevrolet’s 12th consecutive monthly drop in sales volume.

The newfound drop in sales volume of the best-selling Chevy Onix particularly stands out among the long list of models that were in the red during October. The nameplate has continued to lose volume over the past year as a result of extremely low inventory levels. Although it remains the brand’s best-selling model, the Onix lost nearly 1,000 units of volume on a year-over-year basis. The N-Series truck line, meanwhile, regained its position as the second best selling Chevy nameplate, but it too suffered a notable double-digit drop during the month.

Meanwhile, the most prominent positive result was the healthy rise in Chevy Tracker sales. The subcompact crossover maintains the growth it has established in recent months in the Colombian market, but its comparatively modest volume wasn’t enough to counteract the massive drops in the vast majority of Chevy models.

Finally, much like in September, the Chevy Tahoe, Traverse and Beat also recorded minor improvements.
