The GM Authority Take

Although the drop in Chevrolet Colombia sales during November represents the 13th consecutive month of contraction for the brand in the country, the result represents a notable improvement over the performance in October as well as previous monthly records. In fact, Chevy once again managed to sell more than 2,000 units in a single month, enabling it to surpass Renault, which is typically the sales leader, but falling behind Toyota in an exceptionally good month for the Japanese brand in the Colombian market.

Most models marketed by Chevrolet Colombia managed to improve their deliveries in November compared to previous months, despite the generalized declines on a year-over-year basis. Of particular note is the notable recovery in sales of the best-selling Chevy Onix, driven by a higher level of availability of units of the second-gen model imported from Brazil. The N-Series line of trucks and the Chevy Tracker also posted month-over-month improvements, although less notable than these others.

Despite this, along with the increases in sales of several models imported from North America, the brand experienced a notable double-digit drop that sapped more than 1,000 units in November compared to the result of the same month during the previous year.

Additionally, the performance of Chevrolet’s most recent vehicle launches in Colombia, such as the Chevy Silverado and Chevy Montana, remains quite modest, as they have not generated a notable impact that could substantially improve the brand’s bottom line.
