The Ford F-150 Lightning (see running Ford F-150 Lightning sales) beat all other models here combined, with 7,743 deliveries, followed by the Rivian R1T moving 2,400 units. This quarter, the Hummer EV Pickup earned a 12 percent market share in its segment. The F-150 Lightning commanded the space with a 58 percent share, and the Rivian posted an 18 percent share. Meanwhile, the Silverado EV earned an eight percent share, and the Cybertruck held a four percent share.
In addition to the Hummer EV Pickup and Silverado EV, GM’s other all-electric models currently on four crossovers, namely the Cadillac Lyriq along with the Chevy Blazer EV, Bolt EV, and Bolt EUV (though production the Bolts is officially over). The automaker sold 16,169 EVs in total during Q1 2024.

The GM Authority Take
The GMC Hummer EV Pickup competes in a very small and nascent specialty space comprised of just five models, that being all-electric pickup trucks. And while sales continue to grow, competitors like the F-150 Lightning and R1T still vastly outpace it, though the Hummer EV Pickup supertruck is notably a specialty vehicle in this segment. Nevertheless, there is much room to grow for this segment when you consider that the overall full-size pickup truck market, which includes light-duty and heavy-duty models, moved 485,872 units during Q1 2024.
About GMC Hummer EV Pickup
Production of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup began this past June, with the nameplate introducing a handful of significant changes and updates over the preceding 2023 model. That includes the launch of two entry-level trim levels, the 2X and 2, though GM Authority has learned that the “base” 2 trim has been dropped. Range-topping Edition 1 and 3X trims round out the all-electric Hummer off-road pickup truck lineup for the 2024 model year.
Another critical update for the 2024 Hummer EV Pickup is the introduction of the new Omega Edition, which won’t return for the 2025 model year. This limited-run variant includes a unique matte paint finish, unique wheels, and a few other unique accents.
Additionally, for 2024, the Pickup offers a new LPO-level or dealer-installed optional Lifestyle Adventure Package that provides camping capabilities for off-roaders and other outdoor enthusiasts. A step up from that is the new EarthCruiser, a variant of the Pickup designed to tackle overlanding adventures in zero-emission style, though the aftermarket company behind it recently shut down for lack of demand.

Comparing this to the F150 doesn’t make much sense. This is closer to the Raptor. So what percentage is the Raptor to overall F150 sales. I expect the Silverado EV to easily overtake Hummer EV in sales in the coming quarters.
This in no way compares the Raptor since the Raptor is ICE and this is an EV, which is why it’s compared to the Lightning which is also an EV.
They would sell more if they were more serious about stopping dealerships from adding their “Market adjustments.”
From what I read, dealerships were told (by GM) to stop doing this, and would be punished with fewer (or no) allocations if they continued.
My dealership was marking it up $30,000, so I cancelled my order. I would have paid MSRP for it, but not $30 over.
Plenty of dealers have these with zero dealer market adjustment….you don’t have to stick with ‘your’ dealer.
I’m aware of that, but I wasn’t allowed to transfer my order to another dealership that didn’t have this charge. My point was only that GM might sell more if they put their foot down and had some balls to disallow this kind of practice.
GM probably has to be careful as to what they instruct franchise owners they can do. Be careful what you wish for – they could always adopt a policy where dealers can’t advertise any vehicle with a discount price too, like Mercedes does. At any rate, if you still wanted one, I assure you you can find some dealers who have ZERO sold orders in line and you could get your vehicle. The pedal has fallen off the Hummer rose – there’s literally inventory of them in the south central region at MSRP.
The GM EV sales chart is very telling, there’s no seperate entry for the Hummer EV SUV and the exact same sales total is used in both charts. This means Hummer SUV sales are included in the comparison with other pure pickups, so apples to oranges. The editor should have picked up on this.
