2024 GMC Hummer EV Omega Edition Revealed

GM just unveiled a new limited-edition model of the 2024 GMC Hummer EV, the Omega Edition, featuring a limited-run matte paint color, unique wheels, and other exclusive details.

The 2024 GMC Hummer EV Omega Edition is available in both Hummer EV SUV and Hummer EV Pickup configurations, with both versions equipped for both smooth on-road driving and the capability needed to traverse rugged off-road terrain.

Expected to be “a standout on every city street,” the limited edition Neptune Blue Matte exterior paint color sets the Hummer EV Omega Edition apart from other trims and is paired with contrasting blacked-out details. The paint has the low-intensity but strikingly luxurious glow of GM’s premium matte paints, and requires the same special care as the exclusive Moonshot Green Matte paint (color code G7W) offered on the 2024 Hummer EV SUV Edition 1.

According to GM’s press release, “designers took inspiration from deep into the solar system; the Blue Planet, to create the stunning and unique Neptune Blue Matte paint.”

The 2023 GMC Hummer EV Pickup is priced at $100,395 for the 3X and $110,295 for the Edition 1 (with a full pricing breakdown provided by GM Authority).

  1. Seems really unhinged that you’d want the country to go into a recession because a company is building an expensive vehicle that you’re upset you can’t own.
Obviously, there is a demand for something like this for them to build it.

    1. This country needs a re-set. There’s way too many people out there who obviously make enough money to foolishly spend on junk like this while the majority of us have gone backwards. GM is now catering mainly to the wealthy and has become numb to the masses. GM could care less about people like me and making a real difference in this world and instead pushes these ugly, overweight and over-priced POS while claiming that they are going “green”. There is absolutely NOTHING green about these things and because they are so focused on making them higher performance, they need massive batteries to move them. It’s sickening to the core.

So yes, I do feel that the spending and buying sh*t just to scream look at me has gotten so out of hand that going into a recession is about the only thing left to make a course correction. I hope it happens and I hope the mega wealthy get hammered hard.

And no. Not even close to me being “upset you can’t own”. The Hummers were nasty in the past and they are even more nasty now. If I had a billion dollars sitting in my account, I would still never even consider one of these. Funny how butt hurt some of you get on here when anyone challenges your comfort zone and then you make assumptions that show your lack of judgement.

      1. goes on rant about GM catering to the wealthy, conveniently ignores recently released $22k Trax garnering great reviews…

        1. I’m sorry. When did GM make the $22K Trax EV?

          That’s what I thought.

          Reply
          1. Nobody WANTS a $22K Trax EV.

            Reply
            1. iROC Z: I didn’t say people want a Trax EV. But this thread pertains to EV’s and the Hummer. facts who need em made a stupid comment about something that had nothing to do with this.

Anyhow, I’d bet you are 100% wrong on that. If Chevy/GM brought out that Trax in an EV for 22 grand, they’d be sold out for more than a year.

      2. Honestly, I don’t disagree with your basic points. Wealth inequality in this country is out of control but when recessions happen, it only really hurts the middle class and the poor.
The wealthy are relatively immune to the effects of recessions and will keep buying overpriced stuff because they still have a ton of money to throw around.
        That’s the cold hard truth.
But I really think that being upset that GM is catering to that crowd is rather pointless. GM is a company and its primary goal is to pull in as much profit as possible. If it can charge extra for a trim level, it’s going to.

        1. Ehdit0r: Great and true point about who would really get hit with a recession. Agree 100% with the inequality point.

As for the group GM is targeting, I feel this is once again GM putting all their eggs in one (small) basket. Who they seem to be going after is approximately 13% of the country and I think that may be on the high side. GM is totally talking out of both sides of their mouth and saying they are becoming green. Saying they want to build EV’s that everyone can afford. Yet look at what they are giving us (them). A 300 grand Cadillac “sedan”. An 80 to 150 grand porker Hummer line. 60 to 80 grand Cadillac “SUV” which is just a wagon on steroids. Soon to be 60 to 100 grand Chevy and GMC EV trucks, so that the elite can show off their hauling skills at the local mall. A tiny line of 3 SUV’s for Buick. Two Cadillac sedans that jump to over 70 grand if you want one that has any real power (for those who want that).

Now look at what GM got rid of: Spark, Sonic, Cruise, base Encore, Verano, Regal and now the only truly affordable EV, the Bolt. Maybe it’s just me, but I certainly don’t see where GM is a company who cares about anyone with an income less than 200 grand a year.

        2. Case in point. The Washington Post wrote an article about new cars once being an American goal, but are now largely inaccessible for a large number of people. They are patching up and soldiering on with their old cars because they just can’t afford a new vehicle.

On the same day, it was reported that Ferrari’s new $400K SUV is sold out through 2026 and the rest of their line-up is sold out until 2025. Ferrari also reported a 27% increase in quarterly profits.

  2. Looks good, but they need to focus on actually building/delivering these things. As a former 2007 H3x owner, I still have an inexplicable fondness for the HUMMER, even this 9k pig. I have a neighbor with one, possibly the only one in the state, while I have seen at least 15 of the recently released Rivian R1S this year.

  4. I like the hummer but gaht damn…. at least 140k??? gm needs to start releasing information on cheaper models like the equinox ev and blazer ev to give regular consumers some hope.

    Reply
    1. camaro kyle: I’ll put my disgust of GM at this time to the side for now and agree with what you said. But you and I both know that the magic 30 grand Equinox EV will be a phantom. GM will do what they can to avoid building them and the dealers will probably want to stock only the higher trims.

I don’t know about you, but a 40,000 + Equinox is not what I would consider hope for the masses. Of course we don’t know the full pricing on the Nox EV yet, but I’ll bet you won’t find one for less than 40 grand. If you do, the dealers will stack it with add-ons like no tomorrow.

      Reply
      1. a 40k+ equinox really isn’t hope but at the same time, compared to what we have now, i’d rather take an ev equinox over the current one. and who knows. maybe gm will make a bolt replacement on the ultium platform as well

  5. Tesla began with an expensive/exclusive Model S. Once they had the ability to finance lesser profitable vehicle they did. That’s how it works. I understand your frustration that there aren’t $18,000-$30,000 EV’s at a store near you, YET, BUT, THATS HOW IT WORKS. The Bolt and Bolt EUV qualify for the federal Tax credit. GM dropped the prices on those by $5,000 and now they are the 2nd leading EV seller in the US. Do you have one in your garage? Just because you aren’t from Hollywood, a professional athlete, own a string of McDonalds, doesn’t mean those folks don’t exist. Maybe you should not be bitter, but wait until the economics make sense for EV’s for the masses. You bemoan the Equinox which is coming soon.GM will have EV’s that will come in below the Equinox in price. Do you have these feelings for BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, Lexis, on and on? Do you resent folks that have succeeded beyond you and can afford things that apparently you can’t? I get it that you don’t own a Rolex. They make watches that you can buy at gas stations for $4.95. Perhaps you should demand Michael Jordan give up his Rolex for one.

    1. Ray B: It appears that you are replying to camaro kyle, but not sure. But I’ll break it down for you quite simplly.
      1. I own a 2023 Bolt. The only reason I purchased it was because I could get it for under 30 grand.
      2. Stop assuming that because someone refuses to pay high prices for something that they can’t afford it. This makes you look ignorant and entitled.
      3. Chevrolet announced last week that they killed the Bolt/Bolt EUV and production is ending soon. When it’s gone, show me one EV you can buy for under 30 grand. You won’t because you can’t.
      4. All the folks that “exist” that have all this money and who will plunk down 100 grand for a pig Hummer are the same folks who would be in the upper 3% of the income earners. How many of these $140,000 Hummers will these same folks buy? Now equate that to the roughly 10% who can afford vehicles in the 60 to 100 grand range and you’re left with 87% who have a need for entry level and affordable transportation. GM is leaving that 87% behind to chase the other 13%.
      5. Let’s hope someone brings out (soon) a sub 30 grand EV that is suitable for the masses.
      6. It’s not successful people that I resent. It’s the growing number of entitled pricks that somehow make too much money and feel the need to throw it around while screaming look at me. I personally know a good number of wealthy people that would not appear any more wealthy than the average Joe.
      7. Funny you bring up a Rolex. That must be something that you see as making you better than someone who buys a Timex. The smart buyer would be the latter BTW.

    2. the crazy thing is, if i had the money, i would get the hummer over the equinox, even still I would buy the blazer ss over the equinox. But given the fact that i DON’T have the money, LIKE MOST OF THE POPULATION, then I would like to see some cheaper models. lets not assume things about people being “bitter”. that literally doesn’t even apply to my comment.

  6. 100%. We’re at a stage of state sponsored corporate Bio-Leninism / neurocracy (rule by the neurotic) I never thought possible. The same people who told you to tRuSt THe ScIeNCe, that marooned K-12 kids at home for two years while standardized test scores absolutely plummeted, and are now telling you they need trillions of dollars to prevent the planet from warming a few degrees (by mandating you buy an overpriced EV), are propping up an oligarch economy ruled by CEOs who kowtow to whatever the latest social neuroticism that indulges the whims of the mentally ill.

China and Russia have their own autocratic leaders and problems, but they aren’t the ones driving our nation off a cliff – people like Mary, “500K EVs by 2025” (lol), Barra.

Pay more, get less – look at the state of powertrains of $30 and 40K – vehicles. You can’t even get a V6 in anything less under $45K.

Nothing will beat the economy, efficiency (when you factor in HVAC impact on range for anywhere where it stays below freezing for more than 3 or 4 months out of the year), and longevity of a naturally aspirated V6 or V8.
