Chevrolet Chile Sales Fall Four Percent In February 2024

Chevrolet Chile sales decreased four percent to 1,612 units in February 2024. The figures place Chevrolet as the country’s second best-selling automobile brand of the month, behind Toyota.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. No sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

During the first two months of the 2024 calendar year, Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 10 percent to 3,267 units.

The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Chile sales continued to fall in February when the negative performance of the brand in the South American country once again deepened. This is Chevrolet’s 17th consecutive monthly contraction in the Chilean market, which the Bow-Tie brand had led for decades until recently. However, it should be noted that the drop in February wasn’t as steep as previous months and represents a relative stabilization of around 1,600 units per month.

In contrast to previous months, many Chevrolet Chile models managed to increase their sales in February, with four of the seven most prominent nameplates of the month in the black. Highlights include healthy gains from the best-selling Chevy Groove and the all-new 2024 Chevy Sail, which is starting to improve its sales performance as availability increases. Despite the favorable results, these could not offset the loss of volume of the Chevy Silverado, Colorado, and Tracker, which failed to appear on the list.

On the other hand, the all-new Chevy Montana maintains stable sales figures and attracts new customers for the brand in Chile. Still, Chevy’s compact compact pickup fails to stand out in the Chilean market and remains below the full-size Silverado.
