2025 C8 Corvette ZR1 0-60, Quarter Mile Times Revealed

The new 2025 C8 Corvette ZR1 is an absolute monster, with GM considering the twin-turbo supercar as the pinnacle of internal-combustion-based horsepower. We’ve already learned that the new ZR1 can push more than 230 mph in the top end, an eye-widening stat that places it among some of the fastest machines in the world. Now, GM is revealing the official estimates for the 2025 C8 Corvette ZR1 0-to-60 mph and quarter mile times.

According to General Motors, the 2025 C8 Corvette ZR1 can sprint from a standstill to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds. Keep your foot in it, and the quarter mile will blaze by in 9.6 seconds at 150 mph. Both estimates are with the optional ZTK Performance Package onboard. Without the ZTK package, the ZR1 is estimated to hit hit 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, while completing the quarter mile in 9.7 seconds at 152 mph, 2 mph faster than the ZTK-equipped ZR1, presumably due to reduced aerodynamic drag.

GM notes that acceleration testing was performed on a non-prepped drag strip surface with 93 octane fuel in the tank.

For those readers who may be unaware, the optional ZTK package adds on several rather substantial carbon fiber aerodynamic upgrades, including a massive rear wing, front dive planes, and a hood Gurney lip. Add it all up, and the extra wing makes 1,200 pounds of downforce at speed. The package also adds new underbody strakes, new suspension tuning with stiffer springs, and sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.

Impressive, no doubt about it, but the real star is mounted just behind the cabin. Making the go is the twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8 LT7 gasoline engine, which features a flat-plane crank and produces 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm, plus 828 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 rpm, making for not only the most powerful production Vette ever made, but also the most powerful production V8 ever produced by any major American auto manufacturer.

The Corvette ZR1 rides on the GM Y2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant.

    2. I’m going to stick to my C8 ZO6. This car is 0-60 in 2.6 also it’s gets the job done and $100k cheaper! I’m going to wait 3 years and see about the Zora and wondering when they are going to change the body style and also wait and see how many ZR1 they blow up! NOTE THIS!! NO ZR1 WILL SOUND LIKE A NATURAL ASPERSTED ZO6 ! NOTE! The ZR1 sounds like a vacuum cleaner and those large twin turbochargers are giant mufflers and definitely not a ZO6 F1 sound! I will wait! I would not want to be the first year owner of the ZR1!

      1. I heard a rumor that the ZR1 will have a $220K base price. I hope that’s so because that will help eliminate a lot of potential buyers in front of me. It’s still cheaper than it’s $1M+ competition. Sound means nothing as long as the performance is there. I never cared for the sound of the Z06. But I hope some people stick with it and stay off of the ZR1 reservation list.

    3. Chances are that you aren’t doing 8.7 seconds using 93 octane fuel. And regarding a manual, happy mis-shifting… I know some people like manual transmissions to get more “road feel”. Why not also eliminate power assisted steering and brakes too? You’ll get more “road feel”!

  3. Hate to be the buzz kill….but, with these levels of performance, it seems logical that future corvettes will be lesser vehicles of what we have now. Maybe to point that since they can’t eclipse today’s corvette, they’ll just give up.

  4. The car is cool and all with big numbers and a very low price. But the thing will be the lesser cars will get better with what they learn here.

I think the Zora now will be a ZR like car but with less power and weight. It will be a track car. This is where the market will go.

They will work more on styling and aero. Active aero. The cars may not get faster but better.

The best track cars are not 1,000 HP. but 450 HP as you can’t use all that extra power all the time while the 450 GS like Vette is much more a drivers car.
    Less is more at times.

  5. You forgot the most important variable; Weight!!!!!
    The new ZR1 is a 4000lb pig
The best track cars are not street legal. Especially the ones with 450HP.
And you absolutely can use far more than 450 HP. There are many, many examples of this from Porsche, Mclaren etc etc….
