The GM Authority Take

With the solid double-digit increase recorded in March, Chevrolet Korea sales continued to expand its positive performance. It ended the year’s first quarter with green numbers, adding a notable volume of almost 3,000 units compared to Q1 2023. Notably, this result represents Chevrolet’s sixth consecutive sales increase in the South Korean market.

Although the absolute majority of Chevrolet Korea models suffered drastic double- and triple-digit declines in the month, the brand’s overall growth during the month of March was entirely driven by the commercial performance of the best-selling all-new Chevy Trax. Once again, the entry-level crossover led the month’s registrations with a volume of almost 1,500 units that neutralized all the red figures of the rest of the brand’s current models and the discontinued ones that had registrations in March of last year.

On the other hand, the domestically manufactured Chevy Trailblazer continues to lose share in South Korea’s domestic market and is in an increasingly distant second position among Chevy’s best sellers. Despite this, the 416 Trailblazer deliveries last month represent a slight monthly improvement over the 367 units sold in February. The biggest losses came from the line of models imported from the United States.

  1. You list sales in numbers but don’t list the price for that vehicle that is paid.
My Volt cost $39k in the US but $80k in South Korea. This is the reason for the low sales … you should publish the price that is paid.
