The GM Authority Take

After the drastic triple-digit increase recorded in January, Chevrolet Korea sales continued to perform positively, with high growth in February. Despite a significant monthly volume reduction of almost 1,000 units, Chevrolet obtained a good result in the second month of the year in South Korea, continuing good performance. It has become the brand’s fifth consecutive increase in Asia.

As usual, the all-new Chevy Trax was the standout model and leader of Chevrolet Korea’s healthy increase in February. The entry-level crossover accounted for nearly 80 percent of the Bow-Tie brand’s total sales volume for the month. It far outweighed the loss of just over 400 units sold by discontinued models like the Chevy Spark and Malibu in February 2023. As such, the Trax continues solidifying its position as Chevrolet’s best-selling and most competitive model in the South Korean market.

For its part, the Chevy Traverse was the only model of the brand that managed to increase its sales year over year and also contributed to the overall performance – although with a modest figure of 32 additional units. The good performance of both crossovers contrasted with the notable falls of four other brand nameplates, including the domestically manufactured Chevy Trailblazer, which once again suffered a decrease in volume after the recovery it had experienced the previous month.
