The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Colombia sales have continued falling and recorded a new significant double-digit decrease in March. Chevrolet’s loss is in line with the general downward trend of the Colombian automotive market and represents the 17th consecutive monthly contraction of the brand in the South American country. The brand lost leadership for a couple of years and is now positioned in third place among the best-selling brands.

Chevrolet Colombia Sales Fall 29 Percent In March 2024

In March, the fall of Chevrolet Colombia was marked by significant contractions in most of the models offered in the country. In particular, the negative result for the month was led by the considerable falls of the Chevy Tracker, the NHR, and the rest of the models in the commercial truck line. The Chevy Onix suffered a slight but notable contraction that reduced year-over-year volume by 36 units. Even so, the Onix remains far ahead as Columbia’s best-selling model.

Chevrolet Colombia Sales Fall 29 Percent In March 2024

Only the Chevy Bolt EUV and N400 van managed to increase their sales for the month, including a drastic triple-digit increase in the all-electric crossover that translated into 40 more units year over year and a notable 88 percent in the case of the commercial van, with close to 100 deliveries. Even so, the sales performance of both models is not very representative and was insufficient to offset the significant losses of the rest of the Chevy lineup.
