Chevrolet Chile Sales Up Three Percent In October 2024

Chevrolet Chile sales increased three percent to 1,636 units in October 2024. The figures place Chevrolet as the country’s fifth best-selling automobile brand during the month, behind Toyota, Hyundai, Suzuki and Kia.

The reporting of Chilean sales figures are limited since it only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

During the first 10 months of the 2024 calendar year, Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 5.6 percent to 16,670 units.

The GM Authority Take

The small increase in Chevrolet Chile sales during October return the Bow Tie brand to growth in the local market following a significant double-digit drop suffered in September. With the slight increase in October, Chevrolet has stabilized its performance in the Chilean market. However, the brand continues to lose share to rivals, ending the month as the fifth best-selling auto brand – a far cry from the first position it has held for decades.

The recovery in Chevrolet Chile sales during October was made possible primarily by the strong performance of the all-new Chevy Sail, which registered 378 deliveries, becoming the brand’s best-selling model during the month. Also contributing to the bottom line were notable increases in the Chevy Silverado and the commercial truck line, with the full-size pickup consolidating itself as the most popular truck in its class in the South American country.

For its part, the Chevy Groove continues to perform poorly, suffering the most significant drop during both October and the year-to-date total. The entry-level crossover lost its typical leadership position during the month due to lower availability of units imported from China. The N400 van is suffering a similar roadblock, keeping all of its figures in the red.
