2024 Chevrolet Express Passenger

About Chevrolet Express

The 2024 Chevy Express arrives with two new transmissions, which are the only changes for the Passenger Van, Cargo Van, and Cutaway configurations. While the 2024 Chevy Express cargo van initially dropped the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, it is now available again. It joins the atmospheric 4.3L V6 LV1 gasoline engine as the only two powerplants offered in the 2024 Express. Check out the 2024 Chevy Express towing capacities.

Additionally, 2024 Chevy Express infotainment system upgrades are no longer available, leaving the 2024 Express with only one infotainment option: the base audio system, which consists of an AM/FM stereo with an MP3 player. That system includes an auxiliary jack and two front-door speakers.

Contrary to some possibly widely held beliefs, the Express and Savana were tested in a wind tunnel.

  1. GM must develop and produce a new smaller van that can compete against the Ford Transit Connect, which is the best selling small van worldwide. Then bring out an electric version, probably sharing the power train of the Equinox EV.

    1. Or knowing Barra and company, they’ll just let the vans die a slow death and hand the market share off to other companies as always.

    2. I’ve been trying to order them for three or four years with zero luck. I hear the same thing from other stores. That might be the reason for the “decline”.

  2. Can’t sell them if you don’t build them

    1. Exactly! I am a long time inventory manager at a Chevy store. I am down to maybe getting ONE PER YEAR now it seems. I have been trying for nearly a year to get a good customer of mine a van. It is now supposedly getting built in August! I have another long time customer that has been wanting one for about a year as well but haven’t had allocation. I used to be able to actually get them whenever a customer wanted one and I generally kept several in stock.

  3. Business owners only order or buy or lease a new van when they expect business to improve and under the Biden administration, all indications are that the USA economy is going downward because of Biden.

  4. I haven’t seen 2023 or 2022 gmc van on the road at all . It’s nice big van but ford has this market covered

  5. The trans on my 1999 lasted 250k, the trans on my 2018, the infamous 8l90, lasted 150k even with regular fluid changes. I don’t see my self buying another Chevy van

  6. All GM needed to do was listen to their customers and build these vans.

Now that the Transit + E-Series are outselling the Express over 5:1, GM should officially give it up. And thank themselves for sales they won’t be getting back.

    1. They don’t need to give up. They’ve already given up…..

  7. This is what happens when you let a woman run a man’s company. Electric is not the answer but maybe a better engine for now.

    1. “This is what happens when you let a woman run a man’s company.”

This is what happens when a company like GM gets leadership that doesn’t have a clue about fleets.

Now “fleets” can get a bad rap because of rental cars, and nobody needs 500,000 base white Malibus hitting the used market. But a lot of businesses DO NEED full-size vans, and have been begging for five years now. Well GM completely didn’t listen (“Let’s cancel orders and focus on 4 cyl crossovers instead!”), and the van market has spoken.

  8. I am in the market but they are too dam high priced! I say let em sit on the lots all summer and let’s see the prices in the fall or winter. I got time gm do you?

    Reply
    1. Good luck with that…. let us know where you see excess inventory.

      Are you serious???

They are nowhere to be found!

  9. I’m surprised. GMC makes a better looking and higher quality van then Chevy. That’s the only van I’m interested in.

    1. Maybe if they didn’t have two pending class action lawsuits against them for faulty transmissions in which they were advised to recall but refused because of costs! Just had my transmission fail at 64,000 miles in my Savana. GM did nothing to help with costs! And the dealership wanted $9,720.00 to replace! I would never purchase another GM product! Sad it has come to this!

      1. What year was your van? have the issues been resolved in the 24’s?

        Reply
  10. They need to wake up and build a full size high top as well as a compact van. An electric option mostly for the compact will be a necessity. There’s a reason Dodge and Ford followed the Sprinter. I may not be able to build the most cost efficient trucks, although I swear I could deliver what most truck/ van buyers have been waiting for. Get to work GM! stop giving sales away.

  11. I have been trying to buy a cargo van, brand new for 2 yes. Maybe if they manufactured more of them they would sell them!!! Just saying

    Reply
  12. Can’t sell them if you don’t build them. They will sell like hotcakes if only you build them. The Transit and Transit connect are underpowered unibody pieces of junk. Is GM trying to out themselves out of business?
