GM, we need V8’s more than we need a lime green paint option!!
Other than white, what colors actually get ordered? School bus yellow for cutaways going to bus fleets? The rest will cause more bother in the paint shop, and wonder if any will actually get built.
Tangier 🍊 👌🏼
You can order but you may NEVER get it according to the dealer I talked to. There is no promises you’ll ever get one.
Why can you get a 6.6 in a passenger van but not in a 3500 extended length? Did I fall off the turnip truck or did GM? Stupid!
A passenger van can be 3500 extended and those are sold to private parties. The cargo van is sold to fleets/ rentals. They are not going to buy a 401 hp engine for their employees or renters to race all over town.
This fleet for one uses (ok, USED) V8s in fully loaded 3500’s for durability. Was a great setup that worked. Being able to merge onto an expressway without drama was a nice plus.
As for racing all over town, all rentals and many fleets have GPS tracking.
If the van ram had any sense at all they would use the damn lzo duramax in a van totally redesigned with same look as the 1500 and they should also make a2500 styled like the new hd trucks and take the same tech to make a full v8 duramax 4.5 with 420hp/650torque. And make them in at4x and rst and trail box(boss)lol. Same interior as the trucks. Why they don’t do that doesn’t make sense but it is why they’re not the number one selling vans. They could be number #1
Parlay GM … I like the Dark Blue Metallic … it’s time to give this time proven van a face lift both interior wise an external looks wise. Interior, at least upgrade the dash with the same instrument cluster found on the Chevy Trax Active so we can link up our cell phones for hands free calling an google maps, freshen up the interior fabrics, offer 1st an 2nd row Captain’s chairs, keep the 3rd an 4th row of seats easy to remove. External … GM you’re losing sales by not offering more colours like the Dark Blue Metallic an Silver Birch, an Woodland Green … now the front end … it’s way past time to not have a front end restyle that mirrors the Silberado 1500 an Suburban 1500 series … and speaking of the 1500 series … offer a dern 1500 series, not everyone wants or needs a 2500 or 3500 setup. Take all of the above suggestions … make me a 1500 series, 2″ trailer hitch w/trailer wiring, in Dark Blue Metallic, in the 2LT trim to get all the “goodies”, and with the V-6, and a comfortable suspension package as I need one for wheel chair needs … and while we’re at it during the redesign … make it so the GMC/Chevy dealer can lower it at the dealership at least 4 to 6 inches to make getting in an out easier for us in the 60+ age group, and offer a short wheel base like you sold so many of in the 1970’s/80’/90’s. You want to sell more vans, and become the undisputed leader in van sales … do the above
Gps won’t stop them from racing all over town. It can tell them it has been done or is currently being done but it won’t stop it from happening. On a side note I do agree with having big powerful engines… We just don’t see the politics that is being played in the auto industry. I don’t take the blame to the manufacturer!
Are the v8 still in the cab chassis 3500 dually model vans?
I custom ordered my 2003 GMC 2500 Savana extended wheelbase cargo van with the V-8 engine. For 20 years it’s been a super great van. It’s been all over the country loaded with construction tools. I’m ready to buy another one, however I really want one with a V-8 engine. It needs haul ass when it’s loaded down in hilly terrain. When I go to the dealer in 2024 I hope they’re able to build a 2500 extended wheelbase with a V-8 engine. If not it’s a dealbreaker.
I have 2023 on order since November of 22 now to be a 24 being built in March of 2024 . Wow great service . Not ! Loaded window van with v8
