The new model year will also get two new transmissions, including the 8-speed automatic transmission (RPO code MTH) and the 8-speed heavy-duty automatic transmission (RPO code N8X).

Other changes include dropping the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine from the Cargo van configuration in August 2023, though it remained available for the Express Passenger and Express Cutaway variants. However, the gasoline V8 returned to the Express Cargo’s options list in December. Additionally, infotainment system upgrades are no longer available for the 2024 Chevy Express.

  1. GM: we need you to build these, and build these with V8s, more than we need color options that nobody’s going to order.

Wonder what’s actually built besides white.

    1. I ordered a silver one with a big v8 3 years ago. Dealer marked the order as sold, gm accepted the order and never heard another thing about it.

      1. I’m in the EXACT SAME SITUATION. I ordered an 8cyl extended cargo April 29 2021 ! Crickets is all I hear ! Order was accepted …… then bupkis……never has arrived. I am from RI and was fortunate to find an extended van (6 cyl however), in Connecticut for , get this , MSRP ! When I finalized the sale 3 days later , my salesperson said she received at least 10 more calls for it !

        1. Most likely ‘accepted by gm’ was actually just “1100 status, preliminary” which means absolutely nothing until your dealer is allocated a unit to fulfill your order.

More like no dealer’s buyer is willing to order.

What I find annoying is all those colors, some of which look really nice, are no-upcharge. Yet, one cannot buy a pickup or a car from Chevrolet without being soaked a surcharge for all but maybe two or three “colors”, those being grey, silver, and white.

  2. It’s about time for GM to update their vans! Ram and Ford Transit are leaving you, in the dust.

  3. For some reason GM has had there head up there a** regarding their full size vans, I don’t understand it. I wish they would get serious about building a lot of them and puttiing them on the dealer lots. I was very disappointed when the diesel engines went away! And no upgraded sound systems anymore, what the hell.

  5. I did a search for new cargo vans 500 mile radius of Indianapolis IN on Commercial Truck Trader.
    Over 2000 Ford Transits
    1900 Ram Vans
168 Chevrolet/GMC All cutaways with box or utility bodies

Tell Me GM hasn’t completely abandoned everything except a handful of fleet customers.
