The GM Authority Take
GMC Acadia sales dropped three spots from last quarter and year-over-year, placing just 18th among 23 entries. The next-generation Acadia announced last fall could be the main reason for the downturn as crossover shoppers await a bigger, all-new model that GM hopes will bring back customers, especially female buyers. Furthermore, production of the 2024 GMC Acadia was set to commence this coming January but has been pushed back to March 4th, with this delay likely affecting GMC Acadia sales for the first quarter of 2024 as well.
About GMC Acadia
The 2023 GMC Acadia arrives with minimal changes over the previous year’s model, the 2022 GMC Acadia.
The 2019 GMC Acadia was identified by Kelley Blue Book as one of the best certified pre-owned three-row crossovers available for less than $30,000. What’s more, Consumer Reports recently gave the 2023 GMC Acadia a “recommended” rating.
This past September, GM unveiled the all-new 2024 GMC Acadia, introducing a wealth of updates and changes over the preceding 2023 model year, including larger dimensions, more tech, and a new turbocharged engine, along with a bunch of new safety features and heated wipers. Critically, the third-generation Acadia will be available in several specific trim levels – base Elevation, off-road-oriented AT4, and range-topping Denali. Additionally, the Elevation trim will exclusively offer a new Black Edition package.
For the first time ever, the next-gen 2024 Acadia will offer GM Super Cruise, the automaker’s semi-autonomous driving assist technology, thanks to being equipped with GM’s new Global B electronic architecture. Critically, Super Cruise will be available on the 2024 Acadia Elevation and AT4 trim levels. The all-new Acadia arrives as the very first GMC vehicle to offer Super Cruise on Elevation and AT4 trims and the first to offer Super Cruise on all trim levels.
The 2024 GMC Acadia is motivated by the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine as the sole powertrain, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. Output is directed through the GM eight-speed automatic transmission, with all-wheel drive offered as optional on Elevation, Elevation Premium, and Denali. AT4 trims are equipped with a unique Active Torque Control AWD system as standard.

Comments
Wow, I would find a 2023 with a V-6 and without the new tech bells and whistles.
This is just a hint of what’s to come! Mark my words! all vehicles are going to be hit
Also, my wife had a 2020 Acadia. Really enjoyed it, but it was smaller than our current Redline Traverse. The new one went back being the same size as Traverse and Enclave. I will definitely look into one when they have REBATES! Not happy with the axing of the V6 though….
What’s not mentioned here is that production of the 2023 Acadia at Spring Hill has ended. My local GMC dealer only has a few in stock…the pickings are slim. So, don’t you think that would have something to do with sales falling? I’ll be keeping my 2021 for the foreseeable future….
I loved my 2017 Acadia. I needed an upgrade. I do not like the push / pull buttons for the gearshift. So I got a Durango. Hopefully when I trade my Durango in a few years yall change that feature on the acadia.
I have narrowed my replacement list for a new SUV. The pushbutton shift models are not on it.
It says 24 production starting March 4th. Highly doubt that.
Maybe one of the big reasons is the trim and colour combinations that they have. We had an Acadia Denali and loved it. Wanted to update but couldn’t get the colour we wanted and only had a white interior which is basically ugly!!!!
Went to gmc. dealer 3/1/24 was told new 2024 would not be ready til August ’24. And G.M. can’t figure out way no one want a 2023, W/ all the changes . the only draw back is the Loss of the V/6,If you Tow a trailer! Remember 1 year they made Both size Model for 6 months. And some of you guys went to Dodge OH BOY !!!
If they can’t get the 2024 Acadia on the ground soon, GMC is going to lose this female buyer from their market. Been waiting months now to trade my 2020 Acadia Denali in for more space and reaching the end of my patience with this waiting game. BMW X7 and Lexus Tx350 are looking pretty good….
