The GM Authority Take
Surprising us yet again, Cadillac XT4 sales fell to start out the year, mirroring its performance of the previous quarter in spite of offering a refreshed model for 2024. However, sales of the Buick Envision performed quite well, enough to combine with sales of the XT4 to put GM into first place overall in this segment, accounting for a quarter of all deliveries. That is an impressive feat against strong competition like Lexus, Acura, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and crosstown rival Lincoln.
About Cadillac XT4
The refreshed 2024Â Cadillac XT4 features an updated exterior, a new cockpit, and new tech features. Once again, The trim level lineup includes Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport, each featuring unique accents and available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive configurations.
The changes start with new front and rear ends, the former incorporating an updated grille design and new LED headlights with signature vertical lighting cues. The refreshed model also introduces new alloy wheel designs, including 18-inch and 20-inch options, plus three new exterior colors.
Inside, we find an overhauled cabin headlined by a new 33-inch, 9K-resolution LED color touchscreen lifted straight from the Cadillac Lyriq. The 2024 Cadillac XT4 also offers a 13-speaker audio system from AKG, wireless smartphone connectivity, and a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot, making it one of the first GM vehicles to gain 5G connectivity.
Photos have leaked online showing that the 2024 XT4 will receive the top-rated GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance system.
Powering the small luxury crossover is the same turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY engine, which produces 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, mated to the GM nine-speed automatic transmission.
Production of the 2025 Cadillac XT4 is currently scheduled to kick off on June 3rd.
On the all-electric front, the Cadillac Lyriq is the luxury marque’s first-ever EV and its all-electric replacement for the aging XT5. Furthermore, the first-ever all-electric Cadillac Optiq hails as Cadillac’s entry-level EV offering to eventually replace the XT4, which itself received a refresh for the 2024 model year. These models precede the recently announced first-ever 2026 Cadillac Vistiq, an all-electric three-row crossover set to round out the EV portfolio, slotting in the same space occupied by the Cadillac XT6. The Cadillac Escalade IQ full-sizer will slot above the Vistiq.
Additionally, a Cadillac V-Series EV is set to debut this year, likely as the Cadillac Lyriq-V.

Another unsuccessful tiny turbo only? Better fire that female exec who said GM customers don’t care about engine size.
every other car in the segment has the same style of smaller displacement turbocharged drivetrain, the decrease in sales probably has more to do with the strike and launch issues with the refresh. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see sales significantly increase in Q2
There is no way in Hades that I will be buying an electric Cadillac. They better have the xt4 available when I buy in 2026.
With PHEV’s returning to GM they should offer one in the XT4.
