Redesigned 2024 BMW X2 Debuts As Cadillac XT4 Rival

BMW has unveiled the second-generation 2024 BMW X2, revealing new styling, larger exterior dimensions, and a range of tech items. The BMW X2 serves as the more coupe-like counterpart to the BMW X1 subcompact crossover. Both the X1 and X2 compete against the Cadillac XT4, at least when it comes to the base xDrive28i trim level.

Outside, the redesigned 2024 BMW X2 presents larger exterior dimensions, with the overall length extended by 7.6 inches to 179.8 inches, and the wheelbase extended by 0.9 inches to 106 inches. Width has increased 0.8 inches to 72.6 inches, and there are wider tracks front and rear. Overall height has increased 2.5 inches to 62.6 inches.

Showing off its coupe-like silhouette, the 2024 BMW X2 offers optional 21-inch alloy wheels, while LED lighting is standard.

Two trims are offered, including the X2 xDrive28i and high-performance X2 M35i xDrive. Interior highlights include a BMW Curved Display with the iDrive 9 infotainment system. The information screen size is set at 10.25 inches as standard, forming up with a 10.7-inch control display. Driving Assistant Professional is optional, offering a range of features, including hands-free driving up to 40 mph.

There’s seating for five, with increases to shoulder room, elbow room, and knee room. Fold down the rear seats, and you’ll have access to 51.7 cubic feet of cargo room, or 25.3 cubic feet of cargo with the rear seats folded up.

Making the go is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder boosted by a single twin-scroll turbocharger. Output is rated at 241 horsepower for xDrive28i trims. Step up to the X2 M35i xDrive, and you’ll have 312 horsepower at your disposal. Both engines connect to a seven-speed double-clutch automatic transmission.

It’s also worth noting that the fully electric BMW iX2 has already been revealed, but has yet to be confirmed for the North American market.

Pricing for the 2024 BMW X2 xDrive28i starts at $42,000, while the X2 M35i starts at $51,400. Look for the all-new 2024 BMW X2 to launch in the U.S. next March.
