The Cadillac Escalade IQ, colloquially known as the electric Escalade or Escalade EV, is an upcoming luxury utility vehicle that will bring the Escalade into the electric era.
The Escalade will be the third battery electric from Cadillac after the Lyriq and Celestiq, and one of four electric Cadillac models to be introduced by the 2025 calendar year. All five models will be based around GM’s Ultium battery and utilizes Ultium Drive technology.

In August 2023, General Motors officially unveiled the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ after years of speculation. Standing atop the luxury marque’s EV lineup – outside of the prestigious Celestiq – the Escalade IQ is a fresh take on Cadillac’s iconic Escalade nameplate.
“[The] Escalade IQ raises the standard just as the original Escalade redefined luxury a quarter-century ago,” Global Cadillac Vice President John Roth stated. “This reimagining of an icon marks the next step in Cadillac’s all-electric future. For more than 120 years, Cadillac’s bold innovative spirit has defined American luxury. The Escalade IQ embodies this spirit in the most sophisticated form.”
Overview
Although it bears the Escalade nameplate, this all-electric luxury vehicle is vastly different from its ICE-powered namesake. This distinction is obvious from a first glance, where the Escalade IQ boasts softer lines and a less-bulky overall exterior design as compared to most ICE-powered SUVs.
On the interior, the cabin boasts a Celestiq-like setup, and is dominated by a curved pillar-to-pillar 55-inch LED display. Available technology goodies include the likes of GM Super Cruise.
In the powertrain department, a 24-module, 200 kWh Ultium battery pack feeds two Ultium Drive motors – one on the front axle and another on the rear. With maximum output ratings as high as 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque, the Escalade IQ can jump to 60 mph in less than five seconds and tow up to 8,000 pounds.
Range figures come in at a GM-estimated 450 miles of range on a full charge. The battery also provides vehicle-to-home bidirectional charging capabilities via GM Energy’s Ultium Home products.
Under the body panels, the Escalade IQ rides on the GM BT1 platform, while production will take place in Summer 2024 at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan. Pricing starts at $130,000, including destination freight charge (DFC).
Escalade-V IQ
Although General Motors hasn’t officially unveiled any plans regarding a potential Cadillac Escalade-V IQ variant, GM Authority rendered what this high-performance all-electric luxury vehicle may look like. The more-aggressive exterior is complimented by larger wheels, a lower stance and beefier brakes, while V-Series badges can be found throughout.
Power could be developed by a three-motor GM Ultium powertrain similar to that found in the GMC Hummer EV SUV and Hummer EV Pickup, where upwards of 1,000 horsepower is available. When used in conjunction with a 24-module battery pack, output should eclipse that of the standard Escalade IQ.
“Escalade IQ is first and foremost a Cadillac and delivers on a promise of innovative design supported by spirited performance and cutting-edge technologies,” Executive Chief Engineer Jamie Brewer stated. “The EV-specific architecture allows us to deliver a driving experience aligned with Cadillac’s philosophy of isolated precision – quiet, smooth and effortless with a strong connection to the road for an engaging experience.”
