The GM Authority Take

Buick Enclave sales slipped a bit during the first quarter of 2024, potentially due to a production downtown from the UAW strike last fall, while a forthcoming generational changeover will impact sales later this year with the arrival of the all-new 2025 model. Yet, combining sales of the Enclave with those of the Cadillac XT6 placed GM at the top again. This is among stiff competition from Acura, Lexus, Volvo, Infiniti, Audi, and crosstown rival Lincoln.

The now-concluded UAW strike that targeted the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Lansing, Michigan, impacted Enclave production through all of October and into November, which no doubt affected first-quarter sales. Production of the 2024 Enclave kicked off this past June, and its end was pushed back to January 12th, likely to make up for lost production due to the aforementioned strike.

Since the Enclave is one of the oldest entries in its segment, the forthcoming next-gen model is overdue. But any sales boost from it won’t be felt till the second half of this year.

About Buick Enclave

The 2024 Buick Enclave serves as the sixth model year of the second-generation crossover, with no changes or updates compared to the preceding 2023 model year. However, pricing actually drops for 2024 in some trim levels.

In April, GM unveiled the all-new 2025 Buick Enclave, which features a restyled exterior, larger dimensions, an overhauled cabin, and a 30-inch infotainment screen. Orders will open up later this summer for the third-generation full-size crossover.

The new sole powertrain available on the 2025 Buick Enclave is the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. The GM eight-speed automatic transmission is standard as well.

The 2025 Enclave again offers three trim levels but with notable changes to the lineup. Joining the carry-over range-topping Avenir trim is a new base model Preferred trim and the first-ever Sport Touring (ST) variant, replacing what was previously offered as a package on the dropped Essence and Premium trims.

Production of the 2025 Enclave starts on June 17th.
