2024 Buick Enclave Production End Pushed Back

GM Authority has learned that production of 2024 Buick Enclave production will continue longer than originally expected, with the final unit of the second-generation crossover’s seventh model year now slated to roll off the assembly line at a later date.

The 2024 Buick Enclave was originally scheduled to cease production on December 13th, giving it a short run of just six months since production of the model kicked off in June 2023.

The latest available information indicates that production of the 2024 Buick Enclave will continue through Friday, January 12th, 2024, finally ending on that date. This extends production of the model year by a few weeks, though the date is currently only tentative and continues to be subject to change.

The extension of production is likely related to the UAW strike that targeted the  GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan where The General produces the crossover model. While the work halt almost certainly had a significant impact, third-party supplier issues also continue to plague GM production and may also have affected the Enclave.

There is currently no fresh information about the 2025 Buick Enclave, which will introduce the crossover’s third generation and is expected to debut within the next several months. Though production of the 2024 model year will continue through early January, it is also unlikely that the 2025 model will begin production in that month.

While there may be a gap of several months between the end of 2024 Enclave production and the first 2025 Enclave units coming off the assembly line, the high inventory of the current model year should help to bridge it. Dealers had a 141 days supply of the 2024 Buick Enclave on their lots in October 2023, meaning they could continue selling the vehicles at current rates for 141 days before running out even if new shipments stopped.

As The General launches the next generation of its three full-size crossover nameplates over the coming months, GM Authority expects the 2025 Buick Enclave to arrive last. The next-gen 2024 Chevy Traverse will likely see its start of regular production (SORP) in January 2024, with 2024 GMC Acadia SORP following. Production of the 2025 Enclave might not start before Spring 2024.

The 2025 Buick Enclave is expected to offer a three-trim lineup consisting of the Preferred, ST, and Avenir. The vehicle will probably include exterior styling cues from the Buick Wildcat EV concept, with an overhauled and updated interior as well. Our September spy shots confirm the Wildcat influence in the layered grille and slender lighting elements. Exclusive GM Authority content also shows a large, curved horizontal display extending across much of the dash and other reworked details in the cockpit.

The third-gen Enclave will also feature the Global B digital architecture and will be available with the GM Super Cruise system.
