The GM Authority Take

GMC Acadia sales were in line with the segment average this quarter as the current model has reached the end of its lifecycle. A bigger, next-generation Acadia has recently made its debut, and should go a long way toward boosting the nameplate’s sales volume in a very competitive and crowded field of 23 entries.

About GMC Acadia

The 2023 GMC Acadia arrives with minimal changes over the previous year’s model, the 2022 GMC Acadia.

The 2019 GMC Acadia was identified by Kelley Blue Book as one of the best certified pre-owned three-row crossovers available for less than $30,000. What’s more, Consumer Reports recently gave the 2023 GMC Acadia a “recommended” rating.

All-new, next-generation 2024 GMC Acadia in range-topping Denali trim

In September, GM unveiled the all-new 2024 GMC Acadia, introducing a complete overhaul (redesign and re-engineering). The new model delivers larger dimensions, more tech, and a new turbocharged engine. Critically, the third-generation Acadia will be available in four specific trim levels – base Elevation, mid-range Elevation Premium, off-road-oriented AT4, and range-topping Denali.

The new cabin features a massive 15-inch Premium GMC Infotainment System screen, equipped as standard across the range. The 15-inch center screen pairs with an 11-inch Driver Information Center, also equipped as standard on all four trim levels, while an 8-inch Head-up Display is available on Elevation Premium and AT4 trims, and standard on Denali.

All-new, next-generation 2024 GMC Acadia in off-road-oriented AT4 trim

For the first time ever, the next-gen 2024 Acadia will offer GM Super Cruise, the automaker’s semi-autonomous driving assist technology, as first reported by GM Authority. Critically, Super Cruise will be available on the 2024 Acadia Elevation and AT4 trim levels, becoming the very first GMC vehicle to offer Super Cruise not only on those trims, but also across all trims and models. The GM Global B electronic architecture will handle communication between the vehicle’s various components.

All-new, next-generation 2024 GMC Acadia in range-topping Denali trim

The 2024 GMC Acadia is motivated by the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine as the sole powertrain, rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. Output is directed through GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission, with all-wheel drive offered as optional on Elevation, Elevation Premium, and Denali. AT4 trims are equipped with a unique Active Torque Control AWD system as standard. Production of the 2024 GMC Acadia is set to commence this coming January, though the ongoing GM-UAW negotiations might delay those plans.
