The GM Authority Take

After three consecutive months of being in the red, Chevrolet Argentina sales managed to finish July in the green. Though the Bow Tie brand’s upward movement was not substantial, totaling only only two percent, it still represents a healthy finish. Like most auto brands in the country, Chevrolet benefited from a notable improvement in demand for new vehicles last month that placed the overall Argentine auto market into the green.

In July, several models offered by Chevrolet Argentina recorded increased in their sales figures, with the most significant being the the Chevy Tracker. The subcompact crossover ended the month with a substantial triple-digit increase, recording more than double the sales from July 2022 and reinforcing its position as one of the fastest-growing nameplates in the country. Also worth noting is the healthy uptick in Chevy S10 deliveries, which are seeing improvements for the second consecutive month.

By contrast, the Chevy Cruze and Onix registered significant declines during the month. The Cruze compact car sold almost 400 fewer units year-over-year, but that didn’t prevent it from reclaiming its typical position as the brand’s best-selling model in the Argentine market in July. For its part, the Onix sold almost 300 fewer units as it continues to see reduced market share due to the severe restrictions on vehicle imports.
