The GM Authority Take

GM Mexico sales posted a healthy increase during Q3 2023. The results represent the second consecutive quarter that GM sales were in the green, while also becoming the eighth month-long growth streak. With this, GM continues to improve its market share and solidifies itself as the second best-selling automaker in the Latin country (after Nissan).

Just like during each of the individual months that make up Q3, the primary driver of growth for GM Mexico during the quarter was the all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo. The subcompact car registered a substantial triple-digit increase, adding nearly 10,000 units on a year-over-year basis with an impressive monthly average of 5,136 deliveries, making it the fastest growing vehicle in the Mexican automotive industry. In addition, the substantial growth posted by the Chevy Silverado and the Chevy S10 Max also stands out. The latter, in fact, has become the Bow Tie brand’s best-selling midsize pickup in Mexico.

Chevy Cheyenne ZR2

Moreover, the all-new Chevy Trax posted the highest growth rate, while and the all-new Chevy Montana posted its first 330 registrations as deliveries in Mexico began in late August.

The solid levels of performance posted by the aforementioned models contrasts with significant declines posted by several other nameplates, including significant commercial setbacks for the Chevy Tracker, Chevy Onix and Chevy Captiva, plus massive losses in the Cadillac and GMC model lines.
