The GM Authority Take

The healthy increase in GM Mexico sales during July reinforces the company’s competitive position in the Mexican market. The performance represents six consecutive months of sales gains for GM in Mexico, where it has been increasing its market share thanks to a fresh product portfolio.

All-new 2024 Chevy Aveo

The strong rise in GM Mexico sales last month was fueled in large part by the all-new 2024 Chevy Aveo, which reinforced its position as the brand’s best-selling vehicle in the country with a dramatic 80 percent increase, resulting in high sales volume that’s almost 1,800 more deliveries year-over-year. The highlight of the month, however, was the massive triple-digit increase in Chevy Silverado sales, which posted its best monthly sales performance so far this year, enabling it to be the country’s most popular full-size pickup. For its part, the GMC Sierra also posted a triple-digit increase.

Chevy Silverado

Meanwhile, all three of Cadillac’s utility vehicles along with several popular Chevy models in Mexico suffered notable declines over the past month. Among them is the Chevy Tracker, which saw sales fall by almost the same amount of units (1,834) gained by the new Aveo. The Chevy Captiva and Onix – which are typically’s GM’s best sellers – were also in the red.
