The GM Authority Take

The slight albeit healthy increase in Chevrolet Argentina sales during September continues the Bow Tie brand’s growth. In fact, the results represent the third consecutive monthly increase, while also marking the third consecutive quarter that the brand was in the green in the country. In addition, last month’s improvement enabled the year-to-date cumulative total to stay above the eight percent mark.

Chevrolet Argentina’s protagonist during September was the best-selling Chevy Tracker. The subcompact crossover once again recorded a strong, triple-digit growth during the month that not only cements it as the brand’s best-selling model, but also makes it the fastest-growing passenger vehicle in the Argentine market. In fact, the Tracker nearly doubled the volume of the Chevy Cruze, the Bow Tie’s second most popular model, while also offsetting steep declines posted by models like the Cruze the Chevy Onix.

The Chevy Equinox and Spin also registered healthy increases gains during the month and during the first nine months of the year. But due to low sales volumes, the duo had little influence on the brand’s bottom line. For its part, the all-new Chevy Montana delivered 30 units in its second full month on sale in Argentina – a considerable drop from the 64 deliveries seen in August.
