The GM Authority Take

The solid growth of Chevrolet Korea sales in December 2023 extended the marque’s positive performance in the Asian country. The Bow Tie has undergone a year’s worth of transformation in the local market to improve its level of competitiveness and, ultimately, sales performance with a more robust vehicle portfolio. As such, the December 2023 result represents Chevy’s third consecutive increase in monthly sales volume in the South Korean market.

As was the case during virtually every month in the most recent past, the all-new 2024 Chevy Trax was once again the sole protagonist in Chevrolet Korea’s healthy growth in December. The redesigned crossover posted a massive five-digit growth rate, offsetting the widespread drops in volume seen by most of the brand’s models offered in the local market. In addition, the Chevy Bolt EUV was also in the green, though it posted a fairly low sales volume to the point that it was the least popular model amongst all Chevy nameplates.

On the other hand, the Chevy Trailblazer once again suffered a drastic year-over-year decrease, placing it in second place among the marque’s best sellers but significantly removed from the Trax. The subcompact crossover failed to improve its records in South Korea despite the recent introduction of the refreshed model. In addition, the Chevy Colorado and the line of imported North American utility vehicles continue to deepen their sales volume declines among South Korean customers.

About The Numbers
