Chevrolet Chile Sales Down Two Percent In January 2022

Chevrolet Chile sales decreased 2 percent to 3,090 units in January 2022. The figures place Chevrolet as the country’s best-selling automobile brand of last month.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

The GM Authority Take

The slight decrease in Chevrolet Chile sales in January represents the fourth consecutive decline for Chevrolet in the Chilean market. Unfortunately, the Bow Tie brand has thus far been unable to curb declining sales in the Chilean market since last October as a result of extremely low inventory levels of its most popular models.

In January, the Chevy Sail subcompact sedan suffered a severe 60 percent decrease in volume, the highest decline among all of the Bow Tie brand’s models. Even so, the Sail remained Chevy’s best-selling vehicle in the Chilean market market for the second consecutive month.

On the other hand, the Chevy Groove once again lost its sales leadership position due to a lack of on-the-ground inventory. In fact, even Chevy’s local website indicates that the crossover is temporarily out of stock.

The Chevy Colorado and N400 were the only models to post gains in sales volume in January. Also worth highlighting is the solid performance of the Chevy Tracker, which became the second-best-selling Chevy model in Chile. Additionally, the Chevy Captiva posted 402 deliveries in the local market, adding more sales volume to the Bow Tie brand.
