The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Argentina sales continued to be in the red in February, suffering another notable double-digit drop. As a result, the negative performance marks Chevy’s tenth consecutive monthly decline in the Argentine market.

For yet another month, the Bow Tie brand’s sales performance again far exceeded the rate of decline of the local automobile market in February, which fell 6.7 percent. The disheartening performance was caused by low inventory levels of Chevrolet vehicles, most of which are imported from Brazil, as a result of the ongoing shortage of semiconductors as well as severe import restrictions imposed by Argentine authorities.

The vast majority of Chevrolet models in Argentina suffered substantial declines in sales volume, including the Chevy Onix, which registered a new historical low. However, the positive sales performance of the locally-manufactured Chevy Cruze and the (very) low-volume Equinox stand out. The Cruze compact car range continues to consolidate its position as Chevrolet’s best-selling vehicle in the Argentine market with a healthy double-digit increase both in February as well as during the first two months of the 2022 calendar year.

  1. Would probably be higher if a guy could order one without restrictions. I’ve been trying to order anHigh Country for almost two months and still have to many restrictions on it to order what I want.
