The GM Authority Take

Chevrolet Colombia sales started the 2022 calendar year on a positive note. The healthy increase ends a marked period of contraction for the Bow Tie brand in the South American country. After six continuous monthly declines, Chevrolet turned things around and came very close to Renault in January. As such, the brand was only 61 units behind its rival, almost repeating the feat of being the best-selling brand in Colombia, a feat it achieved in December 2021.

Chevy Beat

The positive performance in the Colombian market during January 2022 was supported by significant double-digit gains of the Chevy Beat and Tracker, which were the brand’s third and second best-selling vehicles, respectively. And though the Chevy Onix suffered a 10.3 percent drop compared to the same period last year, it remained the best-selling vehicle in Colombia for the third consecutive month.

In addition, the Chevy Captiva increased its sales volume, enabling it to appear for the first time ever on the country’s best-selling models list, placing 14th.
