Chevrolet Korea sales decreased 41 percent to 3,609 units in March 2022 compared to March 2021 results.
Individual model sales performance was as follows:
- Chevrolet Bolt EV sales decreased 99.24 percent to 1 units
- Chevrolet Camaro sales increased 71.43 percent to 12 units
- Chevrolet Colorado sales decreased 8.87 percent to 257 units
- Chevrolet Malibu sales decreased 49.66 percent to 150 units
- Chevrolet Spark sales decreased 24.39 percent to 1,280 units
- Chevrolet Trailblazer sales decreased 17.84 percent to 1,750 units
- Chevrolet Traverse sales decreased 94.39 percent to 17 units
- Chevrolet Trax sales decreased 57.89 percent to 144 units
During the first three months of the 2022 calendar year, Chevrolet Korea sales decreased 57 percent to 7,399 units.

The GM Authority Take
Chevrolet Korea sales experienced a sharp decline in March, representing 13 consecutive months of contraction in the local market. However, it’s worth noting that last month’s performance represents a recovery from prior months, when the brand recorded even lower sales volumes and higher rates of decline. In fact, the 3,609 units delivered in March represents 1,161 more than in February 2022 and 2,265 more than January 2022, the latter being the worst result in Chevrolet’s history in South Korea.
As such, the Bow Tie brand’s bittersweet sales recovery in Korea during March was supported by resumed production of the Chevy Trailblazer and Spark. Both of the locally-made vehicles are typically the most popular for the automaker in the South Korea market. Though both nameplates were in the red during March on a year-over-year basis, they did make noteworthy volume gains over February. The Trailblazer sold 700 more units month-over-month, while the Spark doubled its sales volume.
The only model to see an uptick in sales volume during the month was the Chevy Camaro, which managed to post an uptick on a year-over-year basis and during the first three months of the 2022 calendar year.
