Cadillac XT5 sales decreased in the United States and Canada during the first quarter of 2024 but increased in Mexico.

Cadillac XT5 sales during Q1 2024 put the compact crossover in eighth place, down a spot from the previous quarter among 13 entries in the luxury D-crossover segment when ranked by sales volume. The Lexus RX remained at the top, as it has for well over a year now, with a two percent bump in sales to 26,473 units. That was about 10K deliveries higher than second place BMW X3, which posted a sales uptick of nine percent to 16,488 units. The Audi Q5 followed again in third place, with a 33 percent drop to 11,473 units, while the Acura MDX took fourth with a 27 percent dip to 11,141 units. Crosstown rival Lincoln Nautilus (see running Lincoln Nautilus sales) moved up several spots to place fifth with a 68 percent jump to 9,231 units. The Volvo XC60 also moved up a few spots to take sixth place, with sales flat for 8,741 deliveries. Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class fell a couple of spots to seventh in spite of a 136 percent leap to 8,614 units, and the XT5 (see running Cadillac XT5 sales), in eighth, posted a 14 percent slide to 6,275 units. The rest of the field each recorded deliveries of around 5,000 units or less.

The XT5 posted a six percent market share in its segment, down one percentage point year-over-year. The RX earned a 24 percent segment share, up one percentage point to account for nearly a quarter of all sales here. The X3 held a 15 percent share, up one percentage point. The Q5 and MDX both posted a 10 percent share, down five and four percentage points, respectively. The Nautilus, XC60, and GLC-Class each earned an eight percent share, with the Nautilus up three percentage points, the XC60 maintaining, and GLC-Class up five percentage points. The rest of the field each posted a segment share of five percent or less.
Sales of luxury D-crossovers were nearly flat for 110,733 deliveries during Q1 2024, meaning that XT5 sales underperformed the segment average.
Cadillac XT5 sales were yet again in the red to start out the year as the nameplate continues to move substantially fewer units than most of its competitors.
It doesn’t help that the first-generation XT5 has become dated, having not seen many updates since its launch for the 2017 model year. GM did announce that it will offer a 2025 Cadillac XT5, XT6, and CT4 in North America. However, while the current XT5 will be replaced by an all-new second-generation model in the Chinese market, it looks as though the domestic-variety XT5 will march on in its current form here in the States.

The 2024 Cadillac XT5 represents the eighth model year of the first-generation model, arriving with minimal changes and updates compared to the preceding 2023 model year, including a trio of accent packages – the new Red Accent Package, Blue Accent Package, and Bronze Accent Package. Production of the 2025 XT5 will begin at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee on July 8th.
On the all-electric front, the Cadillac Lyriq is the luxury marque’s first-ever EV and its all-electric replacement for the aging XT5. Furthermore, the first-ever all-electric Cadillac Optiq hails as Cadillac’s entry-level EV offering to eventually replace the XT4, which itself received a refresh for the 2024 model year. These models precede the recently announced first-ever 2026 Cadillac Vistiq, an all-electric three-row crossover set to round out the EV portfolio, slotting in the same space occupied by the Cadillac XT6. The Cadillac Escalade IQ full-sizer will slot above the Vistiq.
Additionally, a Cadillac V-Series EV is set to debut this year, likely as the Cadillac Lyriq-V.
At a time of year when luxury car ATP usually rises.

I hope you are referring to the Sorento and Santa Fe. Because the Genesis GV80 is quite a bit more expensive than the XT5. I know because I cross-shopped it with my 22 XT5.
Just imagine what the sales would have been with a simple tech refresh... or a simple skin refresh... or any effort at all.
The XT5 could be so much more if they tried.
Put the blame squarely on GM Management.
Now if that was a sedan and had those same sales numbers, GM would have killed it off a long time ago saying it just doesn't sell.
Funny thing. GM has so many suv/cuv's and many of them are brand new or very fresh. And yet, their sales numbers lag behind the Malibu which has zero promotion and they could care less about it. So help me understand why GM keeps so many different SUV's around that don't sell that well and refuse to give us even just one Buick sedan or give some love to the current tiny line of cars.
That logic worked for Ford and what was known as Lincoln to get rid of sedans. Watch China get a new Continental that lives up to the name.
