GM Will Offer 2025 Cadillac XT5, XT6, CT4 In North America

The Cadillac lineup is changing at an accelerated pace as the luxury marque aims to transition to all-electric powertrains by 2030. Although Caddy will continue to offer ICE-powered models until the end of the decade, those ICE-based nameplates that do remain stand on relatively unstable ground. In fact, until recently, it was uncertain if the 2025 Cadillac XT5, XT6, and CT4 would be offered in North America. Now, however, GM Authority has learned that all three nameplates will continue into the 2025 model year in the North American market.

The 2025 Cadillac XT5 will be more or less unchanged from the current model.

2024 Cadillac XT5

For those readers that need to catch-up, the current Cadillac XT5 crossover will be replaced by the all-new second-generation model in the Chinese market. However, over here in North America, it was previously unclear if the XT5 would be available past the 2024 model year, given the current first-generation model is now nearing the end of its lifecycle.

We find a similar situation for the Cadillac XT6 crossover and Cadillac CT4 sedan. It’s unclear if either model will receive a refresh any time soon, and as a result, their future was somewhat in doubt.

Now, however, GM Authority has learned that the 2025 Cadillac XT5, XT6, and CT4 will indeed live on for at least another model year here in North America. For the moment, it looks as though the XT5 will march on as the current first-generation crossover, although refreshes are still a possibility for the Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac XT6.

Chinese-exclusive second-gen Cadillac XT5

So far, GM Authority spies have captured the second-generation Cadillac XT5 testing on public U.S. roads as a prototype. For now, the second-gen XT5 is only slated for sale in the Chinese market. Meanwhile prototypes of a possible next-gen Cadillac XT6 or Cadillac CT4 have yet to manifest, and no mid-cycle refresh has been announced either.

  1. the xt6 is built off the C1XX platform the same for Enclave/Traverse/Acadia all of which are getting a new generation. Why not the xt6? Is it because Cadillac is to eventually drop ICE models?

  2. Good news about the CT4. I want one as my “forever” car, but I want to wait to get the latest model I can get before they drop it.

    1. Barry I’m in the same boat except with the CT5.

  3. Good news, but disappointing that this sliding date has meant that the XT5 hasn’t been given any tech upgrades for a couple of years.

  4. Bring the new CT6 stateside and then I will be a customer! Of course, I will add three 1990s “SEVILLE” emblems to the car and remove the idiotic alphanumeric junk.

    1. Do they know how ridiculous they sound with all the alphabet soup names ?
I first grade we had ‘ Number Boxes ” , to form lines of letters .
      They must still do .
Why do they offer two smaller Cadillacs, ( I RARELY see on the streets) , and refuse to give Americans the big beauty- DEVILLE, I call it ?
How many Crossovers does one company – Division need ?

      1. Because the “big beauties” don’t sell, especially Cadillac’s. The ct6 was a fine piece of work and you guys didn’t buy it so don’t complain now that they don’t offer it anymore. I saw the 2024 version that released in China and it’s absolutely beautiful. Chinamen appreciate American Luxury sedans more than actual Americans. Imagine that.

If GM is fully committed to this whole All-EV by 2030 thing then they should just offer all their current ICE models until that year. Who knows, maybe things will change by then and they’ll be in a position to offer both EVs and ICE vehicles long term.

        1. Actually, if they are really committed to EVs, they should immediately stop sales on the XT5 and force the dealers to learn how to sell Lyrics while they still have Escalades to pay the bills.

Still happy the XT5 is around and hoping they keep putting the V6 in it.

          1. Their plan is All EV by 2030… Why would they stop selling ice now when 2030 is six years away?

            Reply
            1. 2030 never going to happen.

              Reply
          2. Just exactly how do you “force” dealers to sell EV’s? 1. Cut price way below competition. 2. Huge discounts/incentives. 3. Eliminate ICE vehicles entirely. Oh yeah. I forgot. The customer. If you can’t provide the customer with what they want…the government isn’t the answer. Meet the customer’s demand. Reagan was right. Government is the problem.

        2. I bought two CT6’s and still have one of them. Might have to consider MB or Genesis when it’s time to replace the CT6, but I’m keeping it as long as I can.

          1. Oh come on! Foreign gay cars! Cadillac shouldn’t go electric based on how the market is currently responding towards ev’s (I say shouldn’t, because Mary will probably do it anyway, and finish off GM for good).

P.S. The Lincoln Aviator is also a good one to look.

        3. The CT6 waa marketed poorly, initially did not offer a V-8 .
          They absurdly offered a 4 !
The adds awful. De Nyssion didn’t know what he was doing!
          Then Covid hit ….
When Cadillac offered the Blackwing V- 8 in it , the interest went way up .
A fight ensued to save the CT6 ….that dam name, nobody knew what it was ?
However, its supporters lost to the bean counters who destroyed GM in first place..
          I see big new fire
Cadillac is NOTHING without a DEVILLE, or Convertible .
Let GM give that platform for a big Buick, DEVILLE, and it would sell way better then the two smaller Cadillacs .

    2. I think you’re speaking of the 1992 Seville. If that’s the Case, there is a lot of other quality is a bout that car that can be attitude Cadillac today. I don’t mean a direct transfer. I mean the Spirit in the character of a world class competitor.

  6. Cadillac should bring the next Gen XT5 to Canada and the USA – not just limit the long overdue improvements to the Chinese market. Decisions like this to limit access or quality drive longterm customers in the US & Canada away. If they bring it here I will continue to be a customer as the XT5 is sized right and the updated model looks sharp, but I’m not interested in purchasing a repeat of the outdated model we have access to.

    1. I just saw a 1958 Impala Cv completely restored going to auction in Arizona. A friend of mine got one for his high school graduation. The car is awesome. They just don’t build them like that anymore.

  8. Idiots running GM. At least bring the Chinese XT5 over. Give the XT5 and XT6 one more generation. EVs will take at least 5-10 years more for mass adoption. Why not make some money and offer a refreshed XT5, XT6?

  12. Every time I feel the loss of the big, beautiful Cadillacs I just go start up my 1979 Coupe deVille and revisit the past, even if for only a few moments. Then, to my 1985 Eldorado “Business Coupe (purchased in 1987) and finally to my 2002 Eldorado ETC.

  13. After having our 21 XT6 for a few years it’s starting to feel a lot smaller as the kids get bigger so I probably wouldn’t get another one but an XT6-V would probably convince me lol….

  14. the reason XT5 and XT6 sales stink is because they are both stale products. Cadillac needs to update both vehicles for 2025 model year and beyond. I have lost count of the number of new Cadillacs my family has purchased over the years but we may turn to Lexus if GM does not get its act together ASAP.

    1. XT5 sales are actually great. It’s the 2nd highest selling Caddy vehicle after the Escalade. I do, however, agree that the XT6 and XT5 need updates. The XT6 could literally take over the market if they fix the rear and side profile. It looks almost like a minivan.

  15. Wow, Cadillac is more misguided than I thought. EV sales have hit a wall before Cadillac has even seriously entered the arena. But the strategy seems to be delay the development of EV‘s and let the ICE models die on the vine, that’s a great formula for success.

  18. Another headscratcher from GM. They give their entry level crossover (XT4) a refresh then ignore their top crossover in the XT6 which i think is still beautiful on the outside. Give the XT6 the same refresh as the XT4 but also give it the new 2.5 Turbo engine.

  19. The other day, GMA had an article about how many sales might have been lost on the lyric due to not leading with expensive models. I wonder how many XT5 sales have been lost due to not giving it any refresh due to its assumed demise.

  23. As a long time of several CTS Cadillacs I completely agree. The new CT6 should be available to the North American market. It frustrating and disappointing to see GM serve the Chinese market so well but ignore Canada & the USA as the new CT6 and XT5 , only available to the Chinese demonstrates.

  27. This is such a headscartcher and I have no idea what GM is doing. They refresh their entry level crossover in the XT4, why hasn’t the XT6, their top crossover gotten the same or similar refresh? I read the Chinese market is getting a refreshed XT6 in addition to the new XT5 this year. It makes no damn sense. Hey GM refresh the XT6 and bring over the Chinese XT5 to North America!

  28. Maybe I’m just out of touch but personally I think the Cadillac design language is getting a little monotonous. I wouldn’t consider anything smaller than an XT6. I find the new Traverse and Acadia quite compelling, especially with supercruise, not sure what I would be getting for the extra money that Cadillac charges other than a very dated design. Likewise the 25 Tahoe and Yukon Denali look great, IMHO the exterior of the 25 Escalade just looks dated to me. China sales have fallen off a cliff and they still choose to cater to that market rather than the North American market, go figure.
