The GM Authority Take

The performance in February 2022 represents the fifth consecutive month that Chevrolet Chile sales were in the red, a circumstance caused by commercial difficulties that The Bow Tie brand is undergoing in the South American country.

Chevy Sail

Despite the healthy increase in sales of the best-selling Chevy Sail and two other nameplates during the month, Chevy was still in the red during February 2022 due to not-insignificant declines in its second and third best-selling models in Chile: the Chevy Groove and the N400. The subcompact crossover, which is in high demand in the local market, continues to see drops in sales volume thanks to supply-related issues to Chile, where the vehicle made its global debut.

By contrast, the Chevy Colorado posted a significant triple-digit increase in sales. This impressive growth in sales of the midsize pickup is due to the arrival of the new off-road-oriented Z71 variant, which was officially launched locally during the second half of January. It’s worth noting that the Colorado sold in Chile is the international-market model, which differs from the truck sold in North America.
