The New 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 Launches In Chile

Hot on the heels of its regional debut in Brazil back in October, the all-new 2022 Chevy S10 Z71 began expanding its presence in South American countries – where it is marketed under both the S10 badge and the Colorado name. After introducing the new off-road version in Colombia for the first time with that well-known nameplate, General Motors has just launched the 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 in Chile.

The new 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 arrives to expand and diversify Chevrolet‘s pickup offering in Chile, the fastest growing automotive market in South America and one of the few countries in that region where the brand markets the Silverado as a flagship truck. As such, the new off-road version of the Colorado stands out from the rest of the models for its more robust and aggressive appearance.

“The new 2022 Colorado Z71 is aimed at customers who prefer a truck as a personal vehicle given their adventurous spirit, and who value an off-road look, with all-terrain tires and a roll bar,” said Marketing Manager of Chevrolet Chile, Macarena Bravo , in a press release. “At the same time, this truck is robust, safe and ready for all types of roads,” she added.

As in the other countries where this new variant of the truck has been introduced, the 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 is positioned as a mid-range model in Chile, between the LT and LTZ trim levels. As such, it includes a competitive suite of standard technology and safety features, albeit with a more modest infotainment system and without the High Country’s exclusive suite of driving aids.

On a mechanical level, the 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 for the Chilean market is equipped with the well-known Duramax turbodiesel 2.8L I-4 XLD28 engine that develops 197 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. The engine works in conjunction with a six-speed automatic transmission, sending power to all four wheels working in conjunction with the model’s 4×4 “shift on the fly” system.

The 2022 Chevy Colorado Z71 is now available throughout the entire Chevrolet dealer network in Chile, as the fourth South American country to receive the new version of the midsize pickup after Brazil, Paraguay and Colombia. It includes more than 20 exclusive design elements that give it a highly distinctive look. The price of the 2022 Colorado Z71 in Chile is 27,358,100 CLP, about $33,380 USD at current exchange rates.
