Here Are The Fastest Turning Chevy Silverado Trim Levels

Standing far-and-away as the most popular Bow Tie product in the United States, the Chevy Silverado is an extremely important offering to General Motors. As such, it’s vital to keep close tabs on the Silverado trim levels that boast the most demand, and now, it appears as though the off-road-oriented Silverado models are in the highest demand.

GM Authority has learned that lifted Silverado 1500 trims are currently under no constraint whatsoever, as they remain the fastest turning models on dealership lots as of the time of this writing. More specifically, this includes the Custom Trail Boss, LT Trail Boss and ZR2 trim levels.

It’s worth noting that the ZR2 Bison Edition is in the mix as a fast turning model, as it’s a package on the all-terrain-focused Silverado ZR2. In other news, lifted Colorado trims are also the fastest turning Colorado models on dealer lots at the moment.

As a reminder, the current 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500 is available with a bevy of powerplant choices, including the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline TurboMax engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.

Transmission options include the GM eight-speed automatic for the four-banger engine, and the GM 10-speed automatic for all other engines.

Under the body panels, the Chevy Silverado rides on the GM T1 platform, while production of the 2024 model year kicked off in July 2023 at the GM Fort Wayne plant in Indiana, the GM Oshawa plant in Canada, and the GM Silao plant in Mexico. Moving forward, production of the upcoming 2025 model year is currently scheduled to commence on August 26th, 2024.

  1. Yawn! Lifted mall crawlers

I’ll take a 2 inch lowered magnetic ride controlled “SS” sport truck please!!!

Oh wait it’s not 2003 to 2006……shoot…man I miss the looks/height of that truck.

  2. I just test drove a Silverado Turbo Max LT-Crew Cab-4WD. For an MSRP of $57,160.00 The thing is, EVEN AFTER $24,000.00 equity from a trade and all the incentives of $4,500.00 you are still looking at a payment of $600.00 (5 years). Of course the LT w/the 5.3 is almost $5,000.00 more because those trucks come with not only the 5.3 but additional options as well.
I COULD AFFORD those payments-but the issue being I will not be making them by CHOICE.
We have a real affordability issue coming (or it’s already ) here with these trucks.
I fully expect for sales to at the very least going sideways due to pricing.

I am wondering if we will see another $5,000.00 rebate this summer?

    1. Don’t forget a lot of post pandemic mortgages are coming due in late ‘24 into mid ‘25. People with sub 2% rates are looking at a 4% jump or more. When their mortgage increases $500 a month or more, the last thing they’ll be doing is trolling lots for a new truck. Wait til August-October, guaranteed larger incentives.

  3. Exactly what you would expect from today’s GM. Nice pretend performance trucks. Ugh! They are either not serious, don’t get it or GM management politics continues to block the progress.

GM trucks look good. No doubt about it. They simply need a few more drive train options at the high end if they want to get it right and keep pace with the performance truck market:

Silverado/ GM Sierra 1/2T needs a 6.2 LT4/ 10A set up for truck applications. Perfect competitor for Raptor and Raptor R.

    Colorado/ Canyon needs a V8. A 5.3/ 10A is a
    good choice.

A 7M Xmssn option for both trucks is another good option.
