The GM Authority Take
The impressive jump in GM Mexico sales during August 2022 not only expands the company’s positive behavior, but also represents GM’s best performance in the Latin country in the most recent past. In fact, this is the second consecutive time GM has set a new monthly sales volume record in Mexico, after doing the same in July, when it moved 13,745 units.
In addition to those accomplishments, August becomes the fifth consecutive month during which GM Mexico has registered a monthly increase in sales. As if that wasn’t enough, August represented the second time that Chevy was the best-selling automobile brand in the Mexican market.
In August, more than a dozen models across all four GM brands were in the green in Mexico, led by the massive triple-digit jump in the Chevy Onix, which became the company’s most popular vehicle during the month with 2,082 deliveries. Meanwhile, six other Chevrolet nameplates surpassed 1,000 units sold, including the Aveo, Captiva, Groove, S10 Max, Tornado Van and Tracker. Also worth noting are the positive results attained by the Buick Enclave and GMC Terrain, as well as the notable increase by the Chevy Silverado.
In contrast, the typically-popular Chevy Aveo and the company’s entire lineup of full-size SUVs suffered notable double-digit declines due to lower unit availability in the local Mexican market. In fact, the full-size SUVs were also impacted by availability issues in the U.S. market.

Comment
Alex just a small correction needed. In Mexico the Silverado is not 100% the W/T version, as the Silverado Custom is just as the one sold in the US and Canada, with the most noticeable exception that all of the Silverado Custom come with the 5.3L L84 and the 10 speed auto. Also all come with the Spray On bedliner, black assist steps, auto hi / low beam, crash avoidance and lane keep assist as well as pedestrian alert. It is placed just below the 1st entry Cheyenne trim (RST).
