Chevrolet Chile Sales Up One Percent In September 2022

Chevrolet Chile sales increased one percent to 2,973 units in September 2022. The figures place Chevrolet as the country’s best-selling automobile brand during the month.

Chilean auto sales figures are limited since reporting only shows the best-selling models in each segment. As such, no sales data is available for vehicles that sell in lower volumes. Nevertheless, individual Chevy model sales performance (for models for which sales data is available) was as follows:

In addition to the models specified, Chevrolet also markets the following vehicles in Chile:

The GM Authority Take

The slight increase in Chevrolet Chile sales in September puts the brand’s figures in the green once again in the South American country, following a double-digit stumble in August. The dynamic of intermittent increases and decreases in recent months has kept the Bow Tie brand’s sales volume practically flat in the Chilean market during the first nine months of the 2022 calendar year, mostly as a result of low available inventory.

Chevy Sail

Despite significant drops recorded by Chevy’s three nameplates – including the Chevy Groove, which was the best-selling model in September 2021 – substantial, triple-digit gains for the best-selling Chevy Sail and Colorado/S10 slightly tipped the scales into the green. The Sail maintained its usual spot as the best-selling Chevrolet model in Chile, while the S10 midsize pickup truck posted significant volume gains, becoming Chevy’s fourth best-selling model in the local market.

Although it suffered the biggest drop of the month, it’s worth noting that the 547 deliveries of the Chevy Groove represent a notable recovery compared to the model’s performance in recent months. The entry-level crossover managed to position itself as the Bow Tie’s second best-selling model in September.
