The GM Authority Take

The healthy increase in Chevrolet Argentina sales during September outpaced the overall growth of the Argentine automotive market during the period, continuing the brand’s positive performance in the country, where the Bow Tie brand accumulates five consecutive months of gains. However, last month’s 2,006 units sold represents a considerable drop in volume compared to previous months.

This uptick in sales during September was led by a healthy gains of the two best-selling Chevrolet vehicles in Argentina, the Chevy Cruze and Onix, which managed to register high double-digit gains. The Cruze saw the most significant growth, adding 341 units year-over-year and cementing its position as the brand’s best-selling model. Meanwhile, the Onix saw an annual improvement of over 200 deliveries, registering its third monthly sales increase for the year to date.

Chevrolet Onix Plus

Apart from the large (on a percentage basis) but relatively insignificant (on a volume basis) growth posted by the Chevy Equinox, the rest of the Bow Tie’s models were in the red, including the Chevy Tracker and S10, which rank third and fourth among Chevrolet’s best-selling vehicles in the Argentine market.
