Four months after the local announcement of the redesigned GMC compact crossover in Mexico, General Motors has just officially introduced the all-new 2025 GMC Terrain in the Latin country.

GM’s truck and utility brand announced the introduction of the all-new 2025 GMC Terrain in Mexico, the only country in the world where the company exclusively manufactures the third-generation Terrain at the GM San Luis Potosí plant. As such, the automaker is keeping its schedule and promise by launching the new 2025 Terrain in the Mexican market in the last quarter of the year, with sales scheduled to begin in early next year.

“The third generation of the Terrain, produced at our San Luis Potosí Manufacturing Complex, combines the brand’s new design language with GMC’s Professional Grade,” said Marketing Manager for GMC at GM Mexico, Teresa Vera. “The 2025 Terrain offering customers an update to its exterior and interior attributes, greater safety and more technological equipment, making it the benchmark SUV in its category,” she added.

As in the U.S. market, the all-new 2025 GMC Terrain will initially be available in Mexico with the standard Elevation trim level and the Black Edition package as the only option when it arrives at dealerships. As such, the 2025 Terrain Elevation Black Edition stands out for its bolder blacked-out appearance characterized by its all-black grille and other unique aesthetic elements that give it a more sinister presence.

Mechanically, the 2025 GMC Terrain Elevation for the Mexican market maintains the standard turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD engine that produces 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque, coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, which incorporates an Off-Road driving mode.

The all-new 2025 GMC Terrain has been officially introduced in Mexico and will begin to be sold in the brand’s official dealer network starting in January 2025, when the first deliveries will be made. Interested customers will be able to choose the 2025 Terrain Elevation in one of six exterior colors and one of two interior colorways, while other variants will be added later. Here is the price of the Terrain in Mexico:

  • 2025 Terrain Elevation AWD: 842,400 pesos (about $41,750 USD at the current exchange rate)

  3. GMC is a little late on production. By the time I see one in Western Pennsylvania, the model year will be half over.
Price wise it looks like a better option than an Equinox.

    1. I owned a 2018 Terrain 1.5T and now a 2022 Terrain 1.5T, and I am completely satisfied with the powertrain in all driving situations. Plus, both cars have been 100% reliable. So… I am not disappointed whatsoever.
