GM Canada sales increased 28 percent to 62,075 units during the third quarter of 2022. Sales increased at Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC brands, while decreasing at Buick.
GM Canada Sales Notes – Q3 2022
“GM Canada’s results this quarter reflect sustained customer demand combined with improvements in vehicle production and dealer deliveries,” said Vice president, Sales, Service and Marketing of GM Canada, Sandor Piszar. “The team delivered impressive sales across our key products, including EVs, full-size SUVs, and full-size pickups. These results also demonstrate the full impact of Oshawa Assembly, which is building both light-duty and heavy-duty pickups across three shifts of production,” he added.
The Q3 2022 results represent GM Canada’s first quarterly increase in sales so far this year due to a noticeable improvement in production and resulting dealer inventory levels. This allowed three of the automaker’s four brands to achieve significant double-digit gains, with the exception of Buick, which maintained negative numbers.
In addition, Q3 highlights the excellent performance of GM’s range of full-size pickups and SUVs, led by the Chevy Silverado, which strengthened its position as GM’s best-selling model in Canada. The GM’s compact crossovers and midsize pickup trucks also posted healthy sales gains during the third quarter. Notably, the Chevy Malibu and Cadillac XT4 saw the biggest increases.
