Just a few months ago, GM Authority reported that a few paint colors for the 2024 Chevy Tahoe and 2024 Chevy Suburban had been built out and were no longer available for the 2024 model year. With that in mind, it appears as though these same paint shades will not be offered on the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban.
The following three paint colors will be dropped from the Tahoe and Suburban following the 2024 model year (relevant color code in parenthesis):
- Empire Beige Metallic (GJW) – added for the 2021 model year
- Midnight Blue Metallic (GLU) – added for the 2021 model year
- Silver Sage Metallic (G6N) – added for the 2023 model year
In these hues’ place, the 2025 Tahoe and 2025 Suburban will add two new colors, including (relevant color code in parenthesis):
- Cypress Gray (GBD)
- Lakeshore Blue Metallic (GXP)
As a reminder, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban are highlighted by a mid-cycle refresh that brings about a bevy of updates to the exterior, interior, and powertrain. Starting with the exterior, the Bow Tie brand’s two full-size SUVs feature a reworked front fascia with C-shaped lighting signatures and a revised grille, as well as an updated rear lighting setup and available 24-inch wheels.
Moving on to the interior, the cabin is dominated by a standard 17.7-inch-diagonal infotainment screen and an 11-inch diagonal driver information center. Notably, features like Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Magnetic Ride Control are once again on offer.
Under the hood, most of the powertrain carries over from the preceding model, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 and 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engines. However, the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine has been replaced by the 3.0L I6 LZ0Â turbodiesel Duramax.
Regarding structure, the refreshed Tahoe and Suburban SUVs continue to be underpinned by the GM T1 platform, and production is currently scheduled to get underway in October 2024 at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

Like the 3 engine choices ,now if there was a 2 row utilitarian off road model …high payload and towing 3.45 or 3.73 axle ratio I’d go buy one as lot of us have no need ,or want a 3row luxury family school bus
Wish Deep Hunter Green would be an option, not these lighter colors. I still have my 2002 Chevy Tahoe in Metallic Hunter Green still so pretty.
Love our 2021 Tahoe in Midnight Blue Metallic. It has a dual identity, on cloudy days it looks black but on sunny days at a deep blue metallic.
They should leave the C shaped light to GMC and off the Chevy. Drop the 5.3, and just have the 3.0 and 6.2 option for powertrain
Wanted to order a 25 in Silver Sage Metallic…will have to see what the new colors look like…dang. LS…trailer towing options….prefer the cloth seats. Will be our 4th and possibly last the way GM is going.
Why no silver sage? I see solver sage tahoes all the time
