2025 Chevrolet Suburban

The 2025 Chevrolet Suburban represents the fifth model year of the 12th-generation full-size SUV, for which it received a mid-cycle enhancement, otherwise known as a refresh.

This change follows the 2021 Suburban, which received a complete overhaul (re-engineering and redesign), followed by minor changes to the 2022 Suburban, 2023 Suburban, and 2024 Suburban.

The 2025 Suburban sees major changes such as a refreshed exterior and interior, replacement of the LM2 Duramax diesel, and the addition of SuperCruise.

Powertrain

The 2025 Chevrolet Suburban carries over most of the engine and transmission choices from the 2023 model year, but replaces the LM2 Duramax engine option with the new LZ0 Duramax engine.

Production

Production of the 2025 Chevrolet Suburban began on October 7th, 2024 at the GM Arlington plant in Texas, United States.

Suburban vs. Tahoe

The Chevy Suburban is an extended-length variant of the Chevrolet Tahoe, with the Suburban having a longer wheelbase and overall length that delivers more interior space, particularly in the third row and cargo area. See more detail about Suburban vs. Tahoe.

Platform

Like all 12th-generation Suburbans, the 2025 Chevy Suburban continues to ride on the GM T1 platform. Otherwise known as GMT-T1 or T1XX, the architecture is designed for pickup trucks and body-on-frame SUVs.

Seating

The 2025 Suburban is offered in two seating configurations, seating either seven or eight passengers.

  • Seven-passenger configuration (2-2-3): this setup features front bucket seats (providing seating for two), along with captain’s chairs in the second row (seating two) and a bench seat in the third row (seating three).
  • Eight-passenger configuration (2-3-3): this setup features front bucket seats (providing seating for two), along with a bench seat in the second row (seating three) and a bench seat in the third row (also seating three).
