Here Is The 2025 Chevy Tahoe

General Motors has unveiled the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe, giving us a look at the full-size SUV’s new styling, inside and out, as well as announcing a revised diesel engine option and new tech features. The new diesel engine produces more power and torque than the diesel option offered previously, while tech features include new trailering assists and the GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous drive system. The 2025 Chevy Tahoe will go on sale late next year.

The front lighting on the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe.

The 2025 Tahoe’s fresh exterior design was inspired by Chevy’s latest truck lineup, and incorporates new signature lighting elements, with certain trims incorporating unique exterior cues. Six trim levels are offered, including LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High County. Z71 trim levels equip skid plates and a high-approach front fascia, while wheel sizing up to 24 inches is offered on RST and High Country trims. There’s also two new exterior colors to choose from, specifically Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Cypress Gray.

Inside, we find a large 17.7-inch-diagonal infotainment screen equipped as standard. There’s also an 11-inch diagonal driver information center.

New tech items include the latest trailering features, plus an integrated camera system that allows users to view the vehicle interior and exterior via select OnStar plans. Max towing in the 2025 Chevy Tahoe is set at 8,400 pounds. Super Cruise will be available in 2025 after the initial vehicle launch.

The powertrain lineup now includes the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, previously introduced for the Chevy Silverado 1500. The LZ0 is rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque, a 10-percent increase in horsepower and 7.6-percent increase torque compared to the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine offered previously. The gasoline engine lineup once again includes the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 and naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87.

The new LZ0 engine will be available later in the 2025 model year. To note, the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine will not be offered for the 2025 model year, but rather, the initial run of 2025 Chevy Tahoe units will be powered exclusively by gasoline engines until availability of the new LZ0 engine opens up later in the model year.

Finally, changes were made to the SUV’s ride and handling as well, with Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Magnetic Ride Control once again offered.

The refreshed 2025 Chevy will go on sale late next year, with further official details expected closer to the start of production.

  1. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I liked the old steering wheel.

    1. Think I’ll be sticking with my 2024 model order.

      1. Where’s the gear selection mounted
Push button on dash ?? Not seeing a stick selection!?

        1. Last picture. It’s “column” shifter, like most electric vehicles now have.

          1. Sharp looking vehicle all the way around imo. If anything, the trim that runs around the tow hooks could be body color for a cleaner look.

  2. IMO, the interior is beautiful but the front end is a little busy.

  3. Love the layout of the dash. It would be nice if they increased the fuel tank capacity by a few gallons. But if not, that’s okay. Looks great!

    1. It’s kinda early to show these off if they are not going on sale til late next year. They could have just unveiled them at the Chicago auto show in February, along with the Yukon and Escalade.

      1. I live in Chicago, looking forward to seeing it at the show. Hoping to see the Escalade and Yukon there as well!

        1. Bad thing is they will have it roped off, they always do.

  4. Is no one up in arms about the release date of the new Duramax….. it won’t be available until late 2025. Why couldn’t they do a PHEV for an engine launched so late

  5. Sweet.

  7. From the press release, it looks like they plan on introducing a lot more interesting colors FINALLY. Hope we see those on the other trucks, including Colorado/Canyon.

  8. Seriously!!!! Same 5.3L and 6.2L gas engines for 11 years running now! Come on GM what the heck. Update your gas motors already. Everything else on the vehicle is nice, but the price will be insane!!

    1. While more power is welcomed it’s not necessary:
The 5.3 pulls these vehicles around with adequacy.
The 6.2 pulls these vehicles around with authority.

Either one of them sounds better than the Ford ecoboost, it’s primary competitor.

I get 22 MPG on the highway in a Yukon XL with the 6.2. My previous Yukon got 23 MPG.
Pretty much better than any other vehicle with its capabilities on the road.

Who would have thought GM can make a V8 that propels a 6000lb SUV to 60 MPH in under 6 seconds while getting 22+ MPG on the highway?

      1. At what speed?
60 MPH on flat land and no wind?

        1. Supposedly they are working on a next gen engine with 10% more power with 10% better fuel economy.

          Reply
    2. Well the LS based small block that the engine is based on has been around a lot longer than 11 years, and the L84 has only been around for what, 3 years? So I’m not sure what your referring to. Should they come out with a different displacement so people like you can think there is some great new engine??

      Reply
      1. @ Steak REALLY! This is from Holley… “By now everybody knows about how big a role the LS family of engines has played in making horsepower. While the Gen III/IV engines are impressive, GM raised the stakes with an upgrade as a fifth generation small-block called the LT1 that appeared in 2014. If you thought the LS was complex, the Gen V ratchets this up a notch or so. There’s plenty to cover so let’s hit it.”

It’s an LT small block now. Back in 2014 that’s when it changed. Do your research. And the only difference in the 2014-2018 AFM motors, to the 2019-current motors is now its called DFM and it shuts down more than 4 cylinders!!! So nothing really changed…especially the HP/TQ outputs!! While Ford (who I can’t stand) offers a new HP/TQ increase every few years!!!!

Another quote: “The L82 is essentially the same engine as the 5.3L V8 L84 with Dynamic Fuel Management, but instead of being equipped with Dynamic Fuel Management, the L82 features Active Fuel Management.

I do my research….you should try!!! Good day

  9. Front end is a little busy. Interior looks good.
    Just my observation here.
I like my Tahoe more rugged a’la late ’80’s K5 Blazer stlye. Please GM, think about a “off road” version like that on the LS trim.
    One more thing.
I’m 6’1″ 275. The full length consoles really suck up a lot of hip room for us larger guys. My Silverado has it as well and while it looks nice, it gets tight for a big guy.
Please keep a bench or smaller console in mind for us.

  10. offer a 6.6 that has no cyl deactivation and I might think about it.

  11. Same interior a the Traverse ? No thanks, the Traverse is already the better vehicle for most giving the same interior room as the Tahoe for 20k less. The only saving grace now is the engine.

    1. @ Thomas

I agree, I have a 2021 Redline Traverse for wife and love it. It was also $37k less than an RST Tahoe that was on the lot 2 years ago. I paid $49k for it out the door while the Tahoe listed at $86k. These new ones will be even more. I could have bought a lightly used SS Camaro for the price difference. Doesn’t make any sense when there size inside is very similar. Yes, Tahoe is bigger but not $37K bigger!!

I will probably lean towards the Acadia Denali now because I like the size increase and look of them better than new traverse. That back rear quarter window really looks weird

  12. Yay! Just what we need is more lower body mounted LED headlights like the Blazer and Trail Blazer to blind me on the freeway at night!! Fugliest design I have ever seen on GM vehicle!

  13. Looks great glad they kept the tubro diesel. I’m sure it’s going be reaching the 85k price point for the z71 . Love the new color

  14. I have a 22-premiere. I have the 5.3 with the $2,400 cat back exhaust option. I can run reg gas with a nice-sounding exhaust with a little more HP and torque and plenty of power. Saving 80 cents to a dollar a gallon. This is the way to go, I do not tow like most owners.

  15. I am glad I am getting a 24 High Country Duramax tomorrow. However, I will be swapping the tail lights out for the 25 high country lights when available. Other than that, not overly excited with the refresh. The screens seem cheap like the Blazer/Traverse. I fear all the tech like interior cameras, etc could be a recipe for disaster in 7 years when warranty goes out. I’ll stick with my 2024 happily.

  16. A minor refresh shown a full year before anyone can buy one. What the hell is wrong with GM? I’ll never understand their need to show products 1-2 years before you can buy them. It undercuts existing model sales, telegraphs to the competition what you are up to, and makes you look like you don’t believe in your current line up.

  17. I understand this isn’t as high on everyone’s priority list than mine… but will this new infotainment system drop apple carplay? It may seem insignificant to some, but it’s a big deal to me as I’m in the car a lot and it’s what I prefer. I’ve been waiting for this “refresh” to upgrade my ’16… and the infotainment is the biggest visual upgrade here, so if carplay is gone, I might just grab a 23/24 model now while they still have it (even with the ugly tablet style screen).

  18. love the interior but it is the EXACT same one found in the new 2024 Traverse , which we are told will get the same infotainment/Dash combination across all trims…… this means that the Cheapest traverse 38k, will have the exact same interior as the most expensive Tahoe 90k+.
