2023 Chevy Tahoe Gets New Silver Sage Metallic Color: First Look

The 2023 Chevy Tahoe adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Sterling Gray Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Silver Sage Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Sage hue.
Assigned RPO code G6N and touch-up paint code WA-619G, Silver Sage Metallic is one of ten exterior colors offered on the full-size SUV, which include:
- Black
- Summit White
- Auburn Metallic
- Dark Ash Metallic
- Empire Beige Metallic
- Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
- Midnight Blue Metallic
- Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
- Silver Sage Metallic (new for 2023)
- Sterling Gray Metallic (new for 2023)
The Silver Sage Metallic color is a no-cost option that is available on all trim levels. It can be combined with all of the 2023 Tahoe’s interior colorways.
For reference, here are all five available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Tahoe:
- Gideon/Very Dark Atmosphere (LS, LT, Z71 only)
- Jet Black (not available on RST)
- Jet Black/Victory Red (RST only)
- Jet Black/Maple Sugar (Premier only)
- Jet Black/Mocha (High Country only)
Dropping in as the third model year for the latest fifth-generation full-size SUV nameplate, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe introduces only a handful of updates over the preceding 2022 model. Changes include a new Advanced Technology Package that includes GM’s hands-free, semi-autonomous Super Cruise technology and Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist. More recently, Super Cruise received expanded Super Cruise driving coverage, with select Chevy Tahoe and Suburban units among the first to get this updated feature. Accessibility has now been doubled to cover more than 400,000 miles of roads in the United States and Canada, up from the 200,000-plus miles prior to the update.
The 2023 Tahoe also introduces the new 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition, a new special edition package featuring pursuit-rated upgrades and powertrain enhancements in. Furthermore, the 2023 Tahoe and Suburban also see the return of the Brembo Performance Brake Kit.
As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Tahoe is offered with three engine options total, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet; the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque; and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All three engines connect to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. Under the skin, the 2023 Tahoe rides on the GM T1 platform, featuring an independent multilink rear suspension.
Production of the 2023 Chevy Tahoe kicked off at the GM Arlington plant in Texas on July 18th, 2022 and the online configurator tool is now live. Customers can now also configure a 2023 Chevy Tahoe RST Performance Edition.
Refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe and 2024 Chevy Suburban models are set to arrive next year. In March, we caught a prototype of the refreshed 2024 Tahoe undergoing testing. The updated models will feature revised front and rear fascias, with a new two-tiered lighting setup for the front end. Inside, they will boast a revised cockpit and layout with larger infotainment screens and other improvements.
Production of the refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe is currently scheduled for November 2023.
