2023 Chevy Suburban Gets New Silver Sage Metallic Color: First Look

The 2023 Chevy Suburban adds three new exterior colors to its palette: Sterling Gray Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, and Silver Sage Metallic. Here’s our first look at the new Sage hue.

Assigned RPO code G6N and touch-up paint code WA-619G, Silver Sage Metallic is one of ten exterior colors offered on the extended-length full-size SUV, which include:

  • Black
  • Summit White
  • Auburn Metallic
  • Dark Ash Metallic
  • Empire Beige Metallic
  • Iridescent Pearl Tricoat
  • Midnight Blue Metallic
  • Radiant Red Tintcoat (new for 2023)
  • Silver Sage Metallic (new for 2023)
  • Sterling Gray Metallic (new for 2023)

The Silver Sage Metallic color is a no-cost item that is available on all trim levels and can be combined with all Suburban interior colorways.

For reference, here are all five available interior colorways offered on the 2023 Suburban:

  • Gideon/Very Dark Atmosphere (LS/LT/Z71 only)
  • Jet Black (not available on RST)
  • Jet Black/Victory Red (RST only)
  • Jet Black/Maple Sugar (Premier only)
  • Jet Black/Mocha (High Country only)

The 2023 Chevy Suburban introduces only a handful of changes over the preceding 2022 model, dropping in as the third model year for the latest fifth-generation extended-length full-size SUV nameplate. Changes include the addition of Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist and a new Advanced Technology Package that includes GM’s hands-free semi-autonomous Super Cruise technology. More recently, Super Cruise received expanded Super Cruise driving coverage, doubling the coverage to more than 400,000 miles of roads in the United States and Canada, up from the previous 200,000-plus miles. Select Chevy Tahoe and Suburban units were among the first to get this update.

As a reminder, the 2023 Chevy Suburban is offered with three engine options, including the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet; the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque; and the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All three engines connect to the GM 10-speed automatic transmission. Under the skin, the 2023 Suburban rides on the body-on-frame GM T1 platform, featuring an independent multilink rear suspension.

Production of the 2023 Chevy Suburban kicked off at the GM Arlington plant in Texas on July 18th, 2022. The online configurator tool is now live for the 2023 Suburban.

Refreshed 2024 Chevy Tahoe and 2024 Chevy Suburban models are set to arrive next year. In March, GM Authority spied caught a prototype of the refreshed 2024 Tahoe undergoing testing. The upcoming models will feature revised front and rear fascias, with a new two-tiered lighting setup for the front end. Inside, the updated utilities will boast a revised cockpit, with larger infotainment screens and other improvements. Production of the refreshed 2024 Chevy Suburban is currently scheduled for November 2023.

  2. These artist renderings are rarely accurate. Even photos can be misleading. I’d want to see any color in person before I bought.

  9. Sage is a light green color! Silver sage would indicate a light green metallic. None of the photos of the new color are even remotely light green metallic. What’s up with that? How about truth in colors at GM. Current GM vehicle, and color descriptions areabout as accurate as CDC information. Losethe fluff, get back to the facts!
