Here’s When 2025 Chevy Tahoe And Suburban Production Is Scheduled To Start

GM officially debuted the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban last October, which will benefit from a substantial mid-cycle refresh bringing fresh styling, an overhauled cabin and plenty of new tech features. Now, GM Authority has learned when production of the Bow Tie brand’s two full-size SUVs will start.

The start of regular production (SORP) for the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban is currently scheduled for October 7th, 2024 at the GM Arlington Assembly plant in Texas. The facility also builds the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL as well as the Cadillac Escalade.

The 2025 Tahoe and Suburban’s updated exterior design was inspired by Chevy’s latest truck lineup styling cues, incorporating new signature lighting elements. Six trim levels are offered, including LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High County. Z71 trim levels equip skid plates and a high-approach front fascia, while wheel sizing up to 24 inches is offered on RST and High Country trims. There’s also two new exterior colors to choose from, specifically Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Cypress Gray.

Inside, we find a large 17.7-inch-diagonal infotainment screen equipped as standard alongside an 11-inch diagonal driver information center. New tech items include the latest trailering features, such as Trailer Tire Health, Mobile Trailering App Load Rating Info, and Forward Path Indication. An integrated camera system that allows users to view the vehicle’s interior and exterior via select OnStar plans will also be added. Super Cruise will be available in 2025 after the initial vehicle launch.

The powertrain lineup receives the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, previously introduced for the Chevy Silverado 1500. The new diesel mill, which will be available later in the model year, is rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque, a 10-percent increase in horsepower and 7.6-percent increase torque compared to the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine previously offered. The gasoline engine lineup once again includes the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 and naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87.

Under the skin, GM refined the multilink rear suspension design to offer improved ride and handling. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Magnetic Ride Control are once again available features.

  3. I’m in as long as rebates are high and interest rates are low. Probably wishful thinking on my part. If not I will keep driving my 2013 Yukon Denali with 165,000 miles that I bought new in 2013.

  6. For the new 2025 Suburban is it worth considering the Diesel engine? I’m looking to learn about reliability? Is the engine reliable or does it have a history of problem/issues and recalls?

    1. I owned a 2020 GMC AT4 half ton with the 3.0 LM2 and drove it 82,000 miles with no issues. Sold it 2 months ago. Am looking at the 25′ Tahoe with the newer LZ0 which improved a few things over mine. MPG’s are crazy for such full size vehicles.
