The 2024 Chevy Tahoe and 2024 Chevy Suburban are the final model year before both of the Bow Tie’s popular full-size SUV models get a mid-cycle refresh that will introduce both exterior and interior revisions and updates alongside a change to the available engine lineup.
GM Authority has learned that three paint colors previously offered on the 2024 Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban have now been built out and are no longer available to order, including the following trio of exterior paints (color codes in parenthesis):
- Empire Beige Metallic (GJW)
- Midnight Blue Metallic (GLU)
- Silver Sage Metallic (G6N)
It is unclear at this point if any of the three colors will return for the 2025 Chevy Tahoe or the 2025 Chevy Suburban. However, with the mid-cycle refresh about to introduce multiple changes, including to the available exterior paint lineup, it’s unlikely these colors will be included in the palette for either vehicle’s 2025 model year.
Empire Beige Metallic was introduced for the 2021 model year for the Tahoe’s fifth generation and the Suburban‘s twelfth generation debut. Midnight Blue Metallic was first offered for the 2021 model year as well, for both the Suburban and the Tahoe. Finally, GM added Silver Sage Metallic to the palette for the Chevy Suburban and Tahoe for the 2023 model year, giving it two years of availability in total.
As a reminder, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe will get two new paint colors – Lakeshore Blue Metallic and Cypress Gray – as part of its mid-cycle refresh. Other notable exterior details include C-shaped lighting signatures, revised rear lighting, and available 24-inch wheels on the RST and High Country trims. The interior is headlined by a 17.7-inch-diagonal infotainment screen, along with an 11-inch driver info screen, while the GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assist system will be offered.
The refresh of the 2025 Chevy Suburban ushers in similar updates and changes, including the same two new exterior paints. Both models get the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, increasing horsepower by 10 percent to 305 horses and torque by 7.6 percent to 495 pound-feet compared to the performance offered by the outgoing 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine.
The two available gasoline powerplants, which are the same as those offered with the 2024 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban, include the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine developing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque and the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine providing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. All engines are paired with the GM 10-speed automatic transmission.
The GM T1 platform underpins both the 2024 Chevy Tahoe and 2024 Suburban as well as their 2025 successors, with production taking place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
